What are the pros and cons for this game in terms of PS3 vs Xbox 360? AC2

Are there things that should be considered such as:
How controls flow
Graphics
Multiplayer opportunities
etc.

Are you talking about AC1 or AC2?

All I know about AC1 is that there were a few complaints about the framerate on the PS3.

But AC2 Ubi is promising that each will run equally well. It's not really possible to know how well they can back this up until the game actually launches though.

the only real difference is your controller preference.

Is it a big enough difference to choose one over the other.

they can both do 1080p (using HDMI) but in the end it comes down to the game and not the system, you will find 90% of games will be formatted the same screen res across both systems as it saves on some porting work.

I don't think it really matters which you choose to play it on. In my opinion it's just what you would prefer. Me? I prefer a 360, but that's only because my television stand can't handle another console.

I found that the 360 version of AC1 had no bugs or slowdown however the PS3 version which I also have has lots of slowdown and more bugs, also Ubisoft generally uses the 360 version in all the vids.

PS3 Gets Bloodlines compalibility.
360 Gets slightly better AI.
(That's for AC2) Other than that, they're pretty much the same.

PS3 Has more HDD.
PS3 Tiny bit better graphics.
PS3 Charges no fee for Online Play.

360 ?

I don't know much about the 360 so feel free to add to my comment.

And PC sits in the shadows laughing at the consoles.

Huh? Where did you get that from?

360's 120GB is more than enough to play any game.

I seriously doubt that. Just because the hardware might be better doesn't mean the game will look different.

Irrelevant to AC2

@KZarr:

1: I read that somewhere. Can't remember.
2: Wow, I thought the 360 only had 12GB! XD
3: The PS3 has Blu-Ray which makes graphics clearer.
4: Yes, it is irrelevant to AC2. But that was when I was only highlighting things about the PS3.

@Xanatos: Lol. PC is only good if you have lots of money to constantly update your hardware so it can play the latest games.

@Caswallawn: Yeah. But the other differences are; PS3 gets the weapons from Bloodlines on the PSP. And the 360 gets a little bit better AI.

@FROGGE: I said that before! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Uh... no it doesn't.
Blu-ray doesn't add anything but extra storage space, and extra storage space does not mean a better looking game.

And I highly doubt it's that expensive to keep a PC up to date.

Better AI on the 360, huh?
You're one smart person, aren't you?
Being able to see into the future and all that.

Guys keep in mind, that for AC2, we are not developing the game on a lead platform but we are developing it on Xbox, PS3 and PC at the same time!

It means bigger team, tons of work, but we think that it's necessary. We want that franchise to be top quality and one of the best way to do so, is to have specialist working on each platform to get the best of it.

I've played both, and there is no major technical differences at this point.

PSP/PS3 features are a nice addition, so if you plan on getting the PSP version, I would recommend the PS3 version.

Otherwise it's up to you. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

do you actually know what your talking about? it's not just that line that is wrong it is everything you post.

there is no improved AI on the 360 version of the game because all 3 games come from the exact same source with the exception of the PS3 having several extra weapons added to be unlocked using the PSP link up.

not all PS3's have massive hard drivers some are as low as 20gig so the hard drive isn't every thing.

claiming blu-ray makes the graphics better is also a joke as the disc the game is on has nothing to do with quality, it just means the game developers don't have to compress files as much (possibly making slightly shorter load times as in games like GTA4)

the graphics chip in the PS3 (Nvidia RSX) is slightly more powerful than what the 360 has in it but the game is designed on one base and will use the same quality across both systems, only PC will probably see some improvements since it can add extras such as DX10 pixel shaders that none of the consoles support.

when comparing cross platform games on the PS3 and 360 the only difference will ever be the controller. (or one console will secure some exclusive content) but other wise on all cross platform games the 2 consoles may as well have identical hardware, the only time the PS33 hardware is ever shown to be more powerful is under exclusive games as they are designed exclusively to run on the Cell and RSX.

as for PC's being more expensive, yes they can be but you can do a lot more with a PC than you can a console and PC games are always improving in quality and this is why it is only ever the first year or so of a console's life that it actually has higher graphics than a PC. for example the PS3 is running on a modified Geforce 7800 (hence the reason it cant do DX10 as it doesn't have pixel shader 4.0) were the PC's are now 3 generations above the graphics engine used in the PS3 and it is actually the most powerful in a console.

so as long as this generation of consoles is around the geforce 7800 and above should work for all games, and the geforce 7 series is now about 4-5 years old. and the min requirements for PC games are still actually below that point.

Atmon, then you should do an iPhone/iPod Touch AC game, since Bioware has Mass Effect Galaxy on the Apple App Store. Have an 360 & PC exclusive unlockable to use in AC2 like Bioware has done with Galaxy, because when you finish Galaxy there is an item unlocked that can be used in ME2. Also EA now has Madden NFL 10 on the iPhone/iPod Touch. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Cool, goes to show much I have been keeping tabs on the newest information about games coming to my iPhone. Just been too busy reading stories on how Sony and Nintendo are worrying about the iPhone/iPod Touch becoming a major player in the handheld gaming market. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif Sony PSP & Nintendo DSi

So just chill. I'm sorry if I upset anyone.

hmmmm... i don't think that Ipod touch and Iphone will ever be gaming machines like the ds or psp, but i do think they are great for their type of games. especially considering that many bigger developers are starting to take interest in it. like rockstar who are making gta chinatown wars for ipod touch/iphone and say its going to be just like the ds type just lower resolution... i think thats pretty amazing. but ds and psp are still better gaming devices overall...
