Well 1 screen shot of the 90% complete P-80 cockpit. I only have a few area's to complete. Radio, lables, and some minor details. Its just that those minor details take up the bulk of my time. I am also missing 3 guages. I have the flight manual, but its extreamly hard to read them. The game may need to do without if I cant find info on them at Chino next weekend.... I will see what Oleg thinks.

Also, I may have a P-38 update rather soon with the cockpit from Jeronimo. He was going to send me an update last night.

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>

Gib.. did you say earlier that a P-80 got the first Mig kill in Korea? I`ve never payed much attention to this plane before, fill me in please.

Btw, very nice work.

Lol. Its only 12:30 here in So-Cal. I typically stay up till 4-5AM. I know its time to go to bed when the sun comes up.

As for the first air to air jet kill, yes. Its credited to a P-80 on Korea against a Mig-15. Soviet's own documents back this up. They first said they had the first kill, but documents uncoverd after the cold war said otherwise. The Soviets "documented" Saber kills equaled 3x the number of Sabers even in the war, and North Korea shot down an amazing 10x the number of total allied aircraft in the war in Sabers alone! =0 I know a fair ammount of over claims went on with both sides in WWII, and Korea, but lets get back to reality!

Does anybody know whether Intels SSI or Ati's truform will work with FB?
It's so sad to have those jagged canopy frames in front of you. Will look terrible when piloting a spit.... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Sorry, it does not work with FB. Oleg would need to change every model to implament it. Ati makes it sound like Truform is easy to do, or even hassle free, but its not!! You should see what it did to other games when the models were not made for Truform. It made people look like the Fat Basterd, and guns look like balloon toys. In order to implament it on aircraft, it would take a LOT of tweaking on each aircraft. Not worth it.

A little treat for my loyal fans. Only the members of my fan club with the little button thingy in their sig can click on this video and check out the P-80!!! Please remember, its not done. Landing gear needs some texture.

That's an untruiging sig pic, Athosd. Is there any history involved with it? What would make a German FW-190 fly what seems like a formation with an American P-47?

If I remember correctly, its Robert Johnsonâ´s P47 after it was jumped by a Fw190, the 190 had him cold, and delivered some hits. The first of which jammed his canopy so he couldnâ´t bail out. The Fw190 just kept hammering away but the P47 kept flying on.

Eventually the 190 pilot ran out of ammo, flew alongside Johnson and saluted him then turned back to base.

Im glad to see a p80 but im sure alot of hosts wont allow it in thier games online, offline it should be sweet for campaigns.

Im one of the many who feel the me262 should be the only jet in FB.

p80 faster more manueverable at top speed less prone to pilot blackouts if the fm is done right the me262 wont have a chance against the p80

still i cant wait to fly it

I don't know why anyone thinks the Me-262 won't stand a chance against the P-80.

Yes, on paper the P-80A had some performance advantages over the Me-262. But its important to realize that taking advantage of those advantages is an entirely different thing. And even though the performance advantages existed, in a *practical* sense the differences between the planes was really very small.

I agree. The two will be very closely matched. The victory will come to who had the advantage in skill online. This will also keep Allies from flying so many "captured" Me-262's http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
