View Full Version : OT: Who has a good Saitek X45 profile for FS2004 ?

As I bought FS2004 to give it a try, I looked for a profile for my X45 at the Saitek website, but didn't find one. There is one for the X52, but for the X45 there are only FS2002 and FS2000 ones.
Has anyone a good profile which I could use as a start ?

Given the similarity of FS2002 and FS2004, you could test the one for FS2002 and adapt as necessary. I don't have a profile personally, I just program via the FS2004 menus.

Also, threads about FS2004 aren't very welcome here. Some nice forums for Microsoft Flight Simulator can be found here:

Thanks.
Btw, adlabs6 I dont understand your remark about FS2004 threads not being very welcome here. Of course I know this forum is for IL-2 etc, but I see also this recent long thread about FS2004 :

I was refering to Bearcat's comments from about the same time as that thread:

Anyway, I tried to find where my FS2004 saves my key binds and couldn't. If I can locate the file I'll post them for you.

EDIT: Ok, digging more, I found this entry in my FS9.CFG file. The controller is ID'ed, no idea if it would work to put these figures in another FS9.CFG file if another joystick was being used. I believe the number after each command line is the directx number of the X45 button used followed by the repeat factor (only if used), if that helps decode the list. Of course, the axis items are not buttons.

Thanks again adlabs6,
Now I understand your earlier reply.
Btw, I still use your profile for IL-2 and find it very nice. Made some minor adjustments to it.

I have an X-45 and combined it with a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2. The stick for the X-45 is under my desk, the throttle is on my left and the Sidewinder is on my right.

Kiler setup... I get a lot of the X-45 functionality in the throttle while still enjoying force feedback in the Sidewinder.

When I was using the X-45 exclusively, I found "Dhauzimmer's drivers" indespensible. If you aren't running them and the associated helper program for writing profiles, then do a web search and download them. They'll make your life a LOT easier.
