Can you give me the exact model number of the motherboard so I can research it?

EliteGroup (ECS) boards tend to be average but nothing secial.

My family has 5 computers, for the children and such. We have 2 ECS m/b's and 3 Gigabytes m/b's. 4 CPU's are AMD & 1 Intel. Generally we have found the ECS to be pretty darn average in performance. In fact I would not get another unless we needed a simple machine for word processing, email and so on, not because they are "bad" but simply because there is better m/b's performance-wise, for only slightly more money.

If I may explain it this way. Your CPU is like a motor in a car, the motherboard is the body. Having a fast motor is one thing but to put it into an ordinary body means the darn thing won't handle. The CPU will be handicapped. In fact, generally, I would even put up with a lesser CPU and put it a lot better m/b, then you will get the most out of the CPU. The best CPU is nothing if it can't be free to run to the max of its potential and SH3 will test your components and their interactions with each other.

Patience, save a bit more money if need be.
