Whats it going to include, when will it come out, are the developers working on it or not?

I would love to hear if it is going to sort various issues like refueling, instantaneous sub crushing, lame death screen, inaccurate diving depths, chase view, impossible to hit planes, game crashes, graphics glitches, varying missions, accurate historical sea traffic for Dunkirk etc, port traffic, accurate ports, etc.

Let us have some feedback please!

Somewhere on the german forum it is rumoured they have started it but no details given as to what they will be fixing this time.

I have confidence that we will eventually get a patch but understand that there comes a point when customers should do a little polite reminding. Maybe I am a game noob but it makes me uneasy when so many seemed satisfied with a game that needs to have some fixes and adjustments here and there.

Just as long as we keep it clean and do not start screaming at them, then I am all for the (when do we get 1.3 threads)

Seems like the devs are committed to their user base which is a great sign..

Too bad they published with Ubi using Starforce! Last time I pay for either.

Refueling, game-over sequence, chase view, varing missions, traffic and ports aren't really bugs per se.

Crew preset crashes, visual glitches, inaccurate crush depths are more like bugs that could use a good squash.

As for the hard to hit planes, I practiced a lot in the flak training on manual and can say it's hard and rightly so.

IMHO, the most important issue for 1.3 is the covoys not spawing any escorts at all after 1943 and some convoys not spawing at all, period, after this date.

It's been documented at Subsim.com and a "Workaround" Mod has been made that unfortunately adds some consequences. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Search the forums on this, as it has something to do with a campaign command, that won't let any ship spawn, in a convoy, that has a manufactured date later than the convoy leader.

So when a convoy is lead by a Merchant ship dated back to 1940 no destroyer newer than 1940 won't appear along with it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

I hope they are pottering away at a 1.3 patch, but you know what the information on 1.2 progress was like! These devs are the most shy bunch in the whole ubi stable I think. There are definately some tweaks they could attend to and I hope they are at least scanning these boards even if they don't want to talk to us noobs.

......as for a game being "perfect" that can and will never happen, to any game. The "perfect" game doesn't exist. What I do think we as gamers have to come to terms with is, is the game "good enough". We simmers set the standard high in what we expect. I personally don't think SHIII is "good enough" quite yet. We need a v 1.3 patch but I think we must be patient and trust the dev team to make the improvements neccessary to have SHIII set the sim (any sim) standard for years to come. They are very close right now.

Support is the other half of the coin here. When we buy a game these days we expect it to come with support. If theres a problem we all expect a solution, its a natural occurance these days. So far I think the support for this game ranks among some of the best in the industry. For the dev team to give up now when theres a few bugs small bugs left would be to leave a job unfinished, and would seriously dampen my opinion of their support a long with others no doubt. There will be a 1.3 and hopefully more patches in the future. Support is everything. With good support and a solid community we could be playing the game for some time to come.

I know that a patch is on the way - they have stated in the 1.2 readme that the refueling will be sorted in a forthcoming patch. It would be nice to hear though what else they are working on so we could perhaps have some input in helping to prioritise certain items although that would perhaps open a can of worms on this site where everyone seems to have a different opinion on what really needs to be done!

I was just pestering them thats all. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif
