Is there a learning mode for morse like the read-me said?
Or something in the conf ini I overlooked?

Yes: it is documented here: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=18751

Players complain that hearing/understanding Morse code is too difficult. Added "learning mode" and ability to show Morse code as text & conf.ini parameters to enable it.
Client side can enable this feature with ShowMorseAsText=1 (under GAME) and server side can disable this online with allowMorseAsText=0 (under NET)

Note that this is case-sensitive, and TD got the parameter name wrong in an earlier thread. This had me stumped for a bit.

Er, no. The parameter name to enter into conf.ini is case-sensitive. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Well if you only want Morse for NDB's there is no real need to learn the code. NDB's are very slow and repeat allowing you to look the codes up. The simplest way to look up Morse is with a chart like this:

http://www.learnmorsecode.com/pix/learn.gif

With practice you can translate the slow Morse used on NBD's "on the fly" with that chart.

Also you are likely to only use one or two NDB regularly so can soon learn to recognizing those specific NBD's without knowing Morse.

If you do want to learn Morse there are heaps of online resources and tutorials to help. Here is a link to some practice mp3's for example:
