As promised I've uploaded the BoB development pictures from the E3 sim show.

These were at one time posted at SimHQ (?) but were quickly deleted, this might indicate that some of the development shots of aircraft won't make into the completed game.
Please don't assume that we will get all of the aircraft portrayed; see this instead as an indication of some of the work that has being going on behind the scenes.
My intention in posting the pictures is merely to share them with the community, not to add to speculation on which aircraft will be included in BoB.
Please don't refer to this material as proof of what will come in BoB.

I have replaced some of the E3 screenshots with higher resolution versions that I found on the old IL2 site (no longer available), and on development threads in this forum site.

I also uploaded a lot of older WIP development pictures that I had on my computer, some of these are very good.

All of the WIP screenshots can be found here:

http://s58.photobucket.com/albums/g260/restranger/

Some of the E3 pictures I left out because I have either already uploaded them to the above site, or they were lower resolution cockpit shots that can now be found on the Sturmovik 1946 bonus disc.

Here are the E3 screenshots:

Any word on whether the DO-17 will be flyable? I think I remember reading that it isn't a planned flyable A/C, which I really can't fathom. IMHO, if they're going to do that, they might as well give the Hurricane and the 109 the same treatment.

There are already signs of bad mapping, and the game is still under development! Notice the border line between green top and grey belly, it should have been pencil straight:

Probably they figure that the Do-17z had a limited lifespan as a frontline aircraft. After BoB, there is a short period in the East and the Med, but not much afterwards. When they are looking at the mile long planelist for the game they probably figured the 111 and 88 are a better use of their resources, because the cockpits for these (with modifications) will get them through the entire war and all fronts.

A shame though! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'm afraid I couldn't model a cube if my life dependet on it. I'm just bringing attention to this now, as I skin a bit and I'm very, very frustrated by the warping in the Mk. Vb and Mk. IX models.

Some planes have a very nice, well thought out mapping. Others seem to have been skinned more or less as an afterthought. Have a look at the P-47 skin for instance.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
