first, I am running this game with v1.4 and the newest sh commander(Forget version name rt now). i have noticed that Keel shots are now pointless-seems that the new "damage" model used for keels to defeat a player exploit has made a keel shot cause little/no damage on at least some ships-i think it effects all but i am sure of a few. my question is is there a way to keep all the other changes from patch 4 and change back to the old keel damage model? it is frustrating to me to hit a ship multi times under the hull center ship and have it sail on unimpeded.

I have noticed that if u hit a critical area of the ship-engine room,fuel ect that the damage is still imparted to the ship so i m assuming they just strengthed the keels too much.

In testing my Idea that the keel damage model was wrong i attacked a troop transport in harbor. after exploded nine(9) torp under the keel of the ship-the ship didnt sink. it didnt even appear to be damaged- i was attacking from straigh ahead from 275 m so that the torp would have to travel 25 m under the ship before det. then i moved to 225m and then to 375 m. same thing-multi detenations under the keel but no sinking. anyways-tx in advance to any1 who can tell me how to fix this bug

more likely that the torps passed harmlessly under your target because you fired too close.

You gotta allow the torp at lease 300m to even arm.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

no your not understanding- i fired at 275 in order to have the torp pass under the bow of the ship and explode under the keel. i watched using f6 screen and the torp was under the ship dead center when it exploded. i then closed to 225 thinking maybe it was not quit hitting the outlined keel part-still no effect. then i backed up to ~325m and tried again-still no effect.

i have also noticed that if u use a keel shot on a tanker,full or not, it only sinks with one hit only if u hit the area where fuel is being transported. and if the ship is empty then forget it she isnt even going to slow much from the hit.

i m going to try and locate the damage model files in my SH3 folder and see if i can do anything-so any1 with any experiece please give me an advice

thank you i think i figured it out-the some ship type appear to only have a 5% chance of a critical hit with a keel shot while others have 100%. i have made some changes to this and will let you know how it works out. again thanks for the help

ps- it would have helped to tell u i was bow on the troop ship huh? we were pointed bow to bow thats why i closed to 225 to allow the torp to pass under the ship for a bit before exploding
