I couldn't find thread (posted earlier) with some pictures comparible to those in link below.
I hope you like some of them with old Polish and German uniforms - especially from 1939.

Those are some beautiful horses...

and it's funny seeing the Poles reacting the American Civil War...the terrain looks the same as central Virginia.

I also noted the German Chaplain and is that a woman providing first aid (did the Polish army have female medics in 1939? most likely military nurses).

Speaking of ... I visited this in Baltimore, Maryland last year, its the relatively new Katyn Memorial.

one of the three representations is a female flight officer who was a victem at Katyn. Her name was Lieutenant Jawidga Lewandowska.

apparently many Poles immigrated to the USA through Baltimore harbor and there is still a large community there.
