It is my understanding that very little modification would be needed to include the earlier models of the P-39 in the game. If it is true that little or no modification would have to be made to the exterior/cockpit model of the plane and only some performance and armament modifications, would it be possible for us to have this included in an add-on?

Apparently, these were the two models that were delivered to the VVS in 1942 and some of our more historically minded mission builders do not want to include the P-39N prior to summer 1943.

Thanks!

Lots of us have been asking for this for about 2 years now. Seems like a very simple and historically importatnt addition.

Especially the P-400. Loosing that 37mm for a 20mm hispano would be sweet!

i always thought a p400 was a p40 with a zero on its tail http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

bumpage, a "P-40 with a zero on it's tail" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif would be much more realistic than a 39N on '42 EF scenarios. Unfortunately most ppl don't know that the Russians first got it in Jan 43. It was introduced to the USAAF in July 42 IIRC. For EF it's definately a 43 plane, but the P-400 and P-39D were in VVS service as early as '42.

I already said that gibbage could do them. Pls do them http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. Did the 63 already, so the 39D and 400 should be an easy job for him http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Did I already mention the P-47M?

Of course, I'm hoping that our overworked modelers would not have to do anything!
