My GeForce 4MMX didn't come close - the PS 1.1 protocol had my crewmembers wearing Mardi Gras outfits and I was sailing on a vast black and light blue rink....

Picked up a GeForce FX5200 (Asus 9250 magic 128mb) - will this do the trick? I can still cancel the order if you guys have better suggestions for my pedestrian $50....

Thanks in advance.

I doubt it, sorry.

I use this site to check prices. But, I usually do not buy the cheaper because of feedback reports. for a little over $100.00 the bottom ATI 9800 cards are the best buy dollar for dollar of what will run SH3. Just my opinion, but I would be patient and raise a little more cash for assured better play.
It also depends on your system specs.

I run the ATI radeon 9550 256mb. Alittle over $100.00 (US) and it runs great for a good price.

Best if you also put up your other system specs as that might also indicate where a slow down might be.

Bin the MX and the 5200 get a 6600 at the very least a 6600gt if you can aford it but if your mobo is only a 4x AGP your wasting your time.
Oh and get at least 512mb memory 1gb is better

I have the FX5200. No issues with it all. Only wish I got mine for $50.00 LOL. I have everything in setting to the highest and have no issues of game play.

Cancelled the fx5200, said screw it, it's Father's Day, got a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro 256. Only $35 more, and reviewed much better in the benchmarks...

Thanks all for your help. Two more shipping days, and the crew gets to lose the Elton John blouses....hehe

personally i wouldnt touch any of the fx cards lower than a 5900. I think you should save up a bit more and get one of these following mid range / aging high end cards, they are all excellent:

Radeon 9700pro/ 9800pro/ x600pro/ x700pro

Geforce fx5900/ fx5950/ 6600gt

dont touch any low end cards, they will ruin your gaming experience. save up.... and then
check ebuyer and ebay for second hand prices.
