I watched a Martin Mars flying boat pass over my house yesterday...all red & white and pretty.

Uuummmm that's all. I couldn't think of anyone else to tell who'd be interested.

Thanks for listening

Oh and here's a pic of one to make it mildly interesting

Just so you won't feel quite so isolated i'll bump. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Cool plane, hope it didn't do that over your house.
I saw a couple B-52s go over my house about a year ago, probably on their way to Afghanistan.

Wow, I really look good on your six. Mind if I stay there?

Great picture.

I've done quite a bit of fire fighting using a Bambi Bucket attached to a UH-1N Huey.

We couldn't drop quite as much as the burd in your photo but we've made a difference in a few close call fires.

One time I was asked to drop (atomoized) directly a dozer team that was losing a race with a fire.

Atomized water means simply to drop from a little higher up so they don't get a very heavy and very fast gush of water.

Scary missions, but very memorable.

Its puts a helo through hell, thats for sure.

Thanks for showing an interest.
I always loved the first 35 minutes of 'Always' with the Marauder and the PBY and I've watched the helos for real in Australia. Great respect for the pilots.

living in a valley - Derwent valley( the RAF particulary like it for practicing) i get quite a few planes over my house.
in the last year theres been a few hercules, tornados and some big choppers which i can't always identify.

my brother claims a big be-turreted thing came over the other month - i showed him a book and he claimed it was a B17 /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif Don't know whether to believe him or not though - i'm sure a lanc's come over once or twice in the past aswell (if my memory serves me correctly)
possibly on its way/way back from derwent reservoir for some dambusters anniversary or something

BTW "I've watched the helos

does helos mean a airbourne firefighter or something then?

AFAIK it's slang for helicopter. That"s how I use it anyway. I think I originally noticed it in a Tom Clancy book years ago.
