Thats why I just dont understand some of the decisions UBI has made concerning 1C. It is also funny to me that regardless to all the whines and complaints and rumors of the death of the series.... well... you get my drift. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Unfortunately post counts are not strongly related to sales.... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I dunno: places like Planet Battlefield Forums have about half of Ubisoft's board members alone, and that's for one popular game (last time I checked they were in the early 100,000s, and that was early BF2), so I'd say there's a link.

I think there's also a link between sales and the general quality of the community. The relationship would probably be a strong negative, with the quality dropping slightly for every 100 copies sold http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think we are just a small but in comparison very loyal and enthusiastic crowd, as all sim fans are. remember, our fourum has been around for a very long time, compared to other UBI games

Actually, before the last forum glitch and post count lost, the Community Help forum was in that list as well.

It's customer loyalty to the product, and even though it may be a smaller niche, it ought to indicate to UBI that they have loyal purchasing pool and to not pee in that pool. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Apply the bug fix filter to Lock On and there count would be in the low 100's

There's a link between sales and post count, but not a strong one. A number of other factors are
strongly relevant. Console games tend to have lower forum post counts as many console gamers don't have PC's or internet access...no posts from that part of those communities regardless of how many of them there are.
Single player (offline only) games also tend to have less forum activity that online games.
More mature communities that are looking for more out of their games than just shooting and blowing stuff up tend to engender more discussion also. Flight simming tends to be very strong on this point as there are many historical, tactical and technical aspects to discuss that are directly or very strongly related to game play and full immersion in the game.

On the other hand in the past some of the biggest selling games that don't require a lot of interaction with other players of the same game have had forums where there are less than 10 threads active in any given month. A number of rather popular games I've had a shot at have surprised me that way.

Sorry, lady, but it's only me and a few more who have latin hot blood in our veins. The rest of the guys are retired north-minded nerds who only excite at the sight of FM charts... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

On the other side, with near 9000 posts, Bearcat and his Olegist Church could himself alone have a place in that forum chart. This man needs a preaching pulpit forum of his own right NOW! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Man we soooo pwn. This is another thing that should convince UBI and pubs alike that there is still a big place for Sims. It just has to be good enough.

And we all know that no fan is more loyal then a simmer. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
