From what I see up on Amazon.com, the PC version of Brotherhood will also be playable only when connected to the Ubisoft server.

That takes care of my buying the game. I was very much looking forward to this game - just like I'd already had ACII in my hands, until I got to the "permanent internet connection" part - but I can live without it. I'm not shelling out $ 60 for a game that I won't be able to play when and where *I* want to. And not when and where Ubisoft tells me to.

Pity. It really does look good...

lol, you and I put up our posts about DRM back-to-back it seems -- can you link me to what you saw? I won't NOT buy the game, but I'll do what I did with AC2 and just wait for it to hit about 1/3 of the retail price ($20 for AC2) on Amazon.com and buy it then. The game just isn't worth retail with this kind of nasty DRM -- I'd pay $80 if it was just a serial # like it should be.

Ooops! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Here's the link to Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...38631&pf_rd_i=507846 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003L8DXS4/ref=s9_simh_gw_p63_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0AR9BSG8YC6EKCDJSR54&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846)

You can see the info on the cover.

I'm not sure whether I'd be willing to pay even $ 20 for it. I can't play it *when* and *where* I want it, so why pay for it.

I actually owned the white edition - until I saw the part about the internet connection. Then I sent it back. Don't need no statue if I can't play.

Oh, and if one wanders over to the technical help forum, there are *62* pages of "help, I can't get online to play" posts up by now... that tells me that buying this will only end in grief. My grief.

Oh believe me, I fully understand. I think this form of DRM is even dirtier than online activations. Thanks for the link, I can definitely see it in the picture clearly. Will definitely be waiting for it to devalue significantly before purchasing.
