Ok, in general, in the servers, when in 1vs1, the zero will win the fight because of the better turnspeed and climbing rate.

Second point, the speed of the F4F is superior to that of the zero, but does that really care when the Zero is boom n zooming on the Grumman with high speed?

Any tactics here ?
(PS. The Hellcat is faster and has more power, but the zero climbs faster!!! wauw!)

Smells like someone doesn't know the difference between a Wildcat and a Hellcat....

Important for you to know since Aircraft viewer doesnt tell everything is that the Zero has very poor highspeed manuverabilty and it easy to evade at speed excess 250mph IAS. But you mention Hellcat and post a question reguarding the F4F Wildcat.

No matter which they both outdive the Zero. To many people try to manuver with the Zero. Even at high alt it will not matter if your slow. If this should happen dive away and I mean DIVE...straight down. Your energy will keep long enough for you to run into friendly waters. If manage to extend far enough turn around for the headon pass if there is no ram the Zero loses this battle 95% of the time. Yes the Zero pilot will get behind you and plink rounds at 600meters away but try to avoid energy bleeding turns. If you have enough speed and energy and the Zero is close it is possible (I manage it quite abit) to go into a series of scissors to make an attempt to get the Zero to over fly. You will not have too many chances so make your rounds count. This is where gunnery skills come into play. PLay towards the Grummans strengths, dive acceleration, max dive speed, high speed manuverabilty, and most of all its ability to take punishment.

At highspeed you can turn with a Zero easily (notice I did not say out turn). When attempting to chase a Zero down pay close attention to your speed because once you are low and below the speed threshold if the Zero desides to turn and fight your in trouble. Know when to exit the fight. If you landed some good shots on him then let him go if he want to run low and home, because soon his friends will be along and there you will be stuck in a furball with no alt and no speed. Most importantly of all you want the alt and speed advantage whenever possible.

Exactly Havok..I was just watching a Video of Hartman and Foss (others too)talk about tactics. Also some P47 aces talked about their success also. bla bla (Hunters of the Sky) I've read hundreds of ace accounts and played the Cr*p out of this game. More bla bla. Also the the expert in F4F tactics would probably be Thatch. He (and others)says that if you meet a Zero one on one in a F4F you are out numbered. The rule is (FOR f4f). NEVER ENGAGE A ZERO ONE ON ONE. NEVER> IF YOU MEET ONE AND YOU ARE ALONE YOU SCREWED UP.. SO RUN AWAY IF YOU CAN. The F4F pilots in the USN beat the zero becaause of teamwork and tactics.Period> One tactic was never turn with a Zero. T. Mcquire said that you 1. stay above 250mph 2. and never turn more than 90 degrees. 3. ther was a three? Hartman never attack unless he had 2000ft (or meters) advantage. Unless you fly with smart people who are disciplined and understand proper tactics you have no chance. That's why im quitting coops with strangers. too many noobs and idiots. (ok lets get some more altitude guys...no no dont turn with that zero. oh shoot! they are diving for the deck already...oooh.. ok dam your shot down already now im alone with five zeros. or whatever...oh this is so much fun..) Who cares...BD
