There's been some talk of adding immersion to the game with cool new features lately - I thought with all the money Oleg's making out of us /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif he could hire some expensive actors for inter-mission sequences.

Let's have your suggestions.....

e.g. - You land your battered and badly holed Hurricane, cut the engine, press esc.

CUT TO Johnny Depp, brown overalls, chip bag hat, miniscule remnant of cigarette in corner of mouth, wiping hands on oily rag:
"Cor blimey sir - with all this overtime I can send the missus 'ome some extra this week an' no mistake!"

I totally agree!
Kinda like the wing commander games! eh eh+ Am I right am I right?

And yes this Oleg seems to be a little cheap, but this great game we're playing makes up for that so WHAT TA HELL

Johnny Depp? In Russia!? Are you mad man!?!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
And what's up with that accent? I thought this was an eastern front sim?? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

But seriously, some movies would be cool. Don't think live actors are necessary, it'd cost too much. But CGI sequences or some compiled WWII footage would be cool.
Don't think that's gonna happen though...

CGI - of course!

And I take your point about the Eastern Front. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

You land your battered and badly holed Mig, cut the engine and press esc.

CUT TO
Oliver Reed clutching vodka bottle, growling, "Let me give you some advice, comrade...."

Now of course such sequences would grow monotonous and get on your wick efter a few times, so we need lots of them with lots of different actors..../i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Let's have some of your suggestions.

It's a Great idea...but I think that once you've seen a particular "between-mission" Live-Action movie, you wouldn't really want to see it repeated again and again... it's sort of like the current INTRO movie when you load IL2 or FB...almost all of us have turned off the option to view that movie, once we had seen it once or maybe twice.

It WOULD be fun to see these movies, but from a business point of view, it would be a total waste of time and money for Oleg to add this feature, in my opinion. His team's time and development dollars would be better spent continuing to improve the 'reality' of the flight models, new maps, new theaters, new aircraft.

With regard to CGI-type "humans"/'movies', I find those to be counter-immersive in a flight sim...they remind me that I am in a game, with cartoonish humans. Not as bad as CFS2's ridiculous Cartoon Scrreaming De-Briefing 'officer'...that was a True Joke. Just my opinion.

On the other hand, I personally have watched ONE such 2 1/2 minute "live-action" movie at least 50, maybe a hundred times. You can view it at my Site. It's got the Johnny Depp type ground crew maintenance troops, cigar butts instead of cigarettes, and de-briefing comments...Watch for the pilot's comments on how many Kills he got; it's hilarious!

It is on the 'splash'/Entry Page at the site...follow the link in my signature block below.
