Never stay in your pits after you've managed to crashland the plane, because that might happen to you... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

A bad case of wind and a lighted match will do that every time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The P51 wasnt a real safe plane to belly land due to the airscoop underneath it.Was even worse trying to do so on water.Better to climb to altitude then bail out.

I don't think that he belly landed that plane, the prop is still intact. Unless there is some sort of belly landing that your prop turns out perfectly fine? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

That is a really cool pic! I like the position of the pilots (presumably dead) body. Pretty convincing. I like it.

The ailerons were knocked out, but I managed to land the plane safe and sound using the rudder. I started to enjoy watching the fight above me, when two Butcherbirds spotted me and decided to score an easy kill. And Waldo, the answer is yes: at the time of the screenshot I was dead as a rock. Execution with 20 mm rounds. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

Here is the situation from another angle:

Here is a weird one. Kind of OT but all the related topics were locked! I was trying out different planes to see how they reacted when firing as well as the damaged incurred on target aircraft. (In this case Bettys) In one instance I paused, went external, and looked at the Bettys cockpit area to see the if the crew had bailed. I squinted and got real close to the monitor to make sure I was seeing what was there. The Co-Pilot was missing his head!! I scanned around and sure as heck, he was now Ichabod Crane! I've tried several times to repeat the incident with no success (I shoulda taken a screenshot, dangit!)

Possible cause: Since it was paused, It could of been a weird frame glitch where the crew blank out to bail and since the pilots heads swivel, his head preceeded his torso. Oh well.
