This is from the DangerDogz Italy SEOW cmpn's 9th misn, which centered around a naval battle with both sides supporting their ships. It uses a realistic late 43, early 44 plane set, and is the best fight I've been in since the grueling cmpn we flew against the rather effective guys of the 352cd last yr.

There is a rather long text description setting up the scenario. It's nearly 50 screen shots, and is in story form.

I think SEOW enthusiasts will find this interesting, as our guys who designed the cmpn did a great job. Lots of land and sea action as well as air, and those two aspects are what the cmpn revolves around.

It also shows a rather annoying problem with the SEOW regarding ships, and SEOW Cmpn blders will want to see this so they can be aware of some of the problems.

If you see that some of the text is missing or big gray squares on some of the posts, kill it and click on it again. I dunno why it does that sometimes.

Note: make sure when you make these cmpns that you put a few cameras about. They would've helped alot here.

Enjoy.

Looks like a real Blast flying in those missions from the screens... Great job of putting this all together though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

These things are great! The importance of achieving your objectives and surviving really gives the SEOW a flavor unlike regular gameplay. The whole squad gets worked up, and you can just taste the adrenaline. Hats off to the SEOW developement team, it's just one more reason I'm still here after all these years. (The main reason is the Dogz)

Yeah, that SEOW thingy gives this sim a new life, despite the rather unusual quirks that show up. God only knows what a future version of this or a similar program could do in the next gen of sim.

We usually fly the cmpn misn for one hr once a week, but have missed a couple of weekends for various reasons which keep pilots from attending (hollidays etc).

There is still no clear winner, though the allies have probably done a bit better, but the German forces still hold most of our objectives. The allies continue to advance, but their ground forces have suffered some heavy casualties. There's been some rather epic ground battles as a result, but we didn't have any cams to record all of.

We will next time.

We evacuated Sardinia as allied armor was coming down the road. This is so cool.

We've discovered something about the ship quirk in SEOW that may be useful for misn blders and participants in the future.

The Tirpitz and the Brit BB did collide and sink. It just so happened that the opposing sides apparently placed the ships nearly on top of each other, and they collided almost the moment the misn started. Both ships were seen by one pilot sinking.

However, due to some odd "thing" that happened as the SEOW interfaced with the sim, both ships were resurrected and resumed steaming, however, niether was apparently shooting (which I thought was strange).

I even have a shot of the Tirpitz rotating on its axis as it reverses course and retreats. Maybe I should send this to "ghost hunters".

Anyway, this is just one thing that should be kept in mind when planning naval movements in the SEOW. I dunno how we coulda avoided it, but it helps to know. I still love this program though. SEOW is the best aspect of this whole deal I think.

SEOW just creates FMB compatible coop missions, which are then hosted normally. There is no SEOW program running while you are flying the coop. I suspect that this ship bug you see is a game bug in IL-2, not SEOW.
