Has anyone been able to add a song longer than about 40 seconds to the game without it repeating itself. And is there a way to use MP3s.

I have clips much longer, like WW2 era music files playing low in background during flight. File must be in the samples/music/inflight folder, and correct settings made to sound menu in game. Works fine, files are about 15 minutes long, I never live that long so I don't know if they repeat or not. I have also used chatter files produced by others that provide excellent background 'radio noise' during flight, these are available in Japanese, Russian, German, and English. IL2 picks files at random from this folder so remove those you don't want to use.

Go to your IL2fb-aep-pf or Pf folder then Samples\Music\Inflight.......Put anything you want there and it will play while flying and in the order you name it.

The PF manual (pg. 10) says the music files should be in Windows WAVE-file, MPEG 1.3 format. You may need to use a program like Cdex to convert.

I have a way to do this, and it uses no PC system resources. Hours of music content.

I call it "the radio"

Runnin Winamp on the back is the best option. You can listen to whatever you want.

i extracted the music from Janes World War II Fighters and used that but it took a bit of doing because i had to find the right compression for the wav file not to hang and repeat in the game i didn't need any special software to do this i used Sound recorder that came with windows
in the end it worked out just great and i have the music that i want in the game
