HELP ME PLEASE! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
My friend and I want to play head to head over internet.
We both have version 4.04 of IL2 on DVD with Aces, Forgotten Battles and PF included.
We are both using new XP machines with 2 gigs RAM, xlnt video etc.
We are BOTH using wireless connections to net.
We both have DSL modems that are working with a wireless router to our remote machines.

Will someone please explain what we need to do in order to have one of us be a server. So far, NOTHING has worked. We cannot hook-up with each other over the net, or through UBI or on Hyperlobby.
We CAN each get into someone else's room and play there, but cannot seem to make our own servers/rooms work with each other...

HELP!! (In layman's terms please)
Thanks
Gregg

Too complicated to answer in laymens terms. You need to forward ports on your router, or add your PC to the DMZ.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The server machine's IP addresses must be known to the 'connectee'.
If you're each going through a router you must do what is called 'Port Forwarding' where the router essentially allows a packet for port (21000 default) to get through to the computer. Consult the router documentation on how to do this.

The server is setup of the pc by 'creating a server' instead of joining a game. Just follow the 'route'. The 'connectee' must know the servers IP address to connect with the 'Join Game' option.

Seeing that you cannot connect to UBI/Hyperlobby it looks like your modem/router is not setup properly. Have you enabled encryption with the wireless modem/router. If not have a look out your window and see if you can see a 'geek' feverously fingering his laptop. He's probably stolen your connection http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
