I post here even on hardware issues cause I like this forum. Hope you guys don't mind.

Doing a test of my HOTAS, Cougar, I find my rudders not working right. I have full right deflection. Left however is only moving 10% at full deflection. Is it the pot?

If so, I have an old F22 pro and f16TQS lying around. Can I pull the same pot from one of those, if there is one, and pop it into the rudders to make it work?

Thanks everyone.

PS. I've reflashed, loaded profile, downloaded file to stick, and recalibrated. I also get an error when doing a manula cal. Says something about limits have been pushed to far or something to that effect.

PPS. If I decided on new peddles, can anyone suggest a decent set?

Better search or ask at Frugal's.

My RCS was half hand-made (slider was broken and I made them from wood and also some other parts) but it's now gradually dying. I've been very busy and have no time to fix anymore, I finally ordered simped.

Well I can't afford the F16+ breaks at the moment and hope eventually get a set of them :-)

PS. Re-reading your post, have you checked how pod's behaving in the CCP? If it's dying, you need to clear or change it. Mine can't be changed it's like melted with the frame!

Going for Hall Sensor is said to be the best choice tho a bit pricy. Simped uese a Hall. You may want to contact CubPilot for Hall Sensor:

Greets Coffee, Funny you posted this as I just ordered 2 new pots for my rudders. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I have the predeceser to the elite's(thrustmaster RCS control system)that I use with my cougar.

Over the years I have gone thru 3 pots and that was the first sign that the pot was on the way out, loosing full deflection to one side(right for me).

A quick check in Foxy-APPS menu-cougar annylizer to verrify your axis are all working to full deflection, without stutters also(another sign of pot falure).

You could also check the pot with a multi meter for correct operation.

Would probably be a good idea to have some new pots around, even if yours check out OK http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I had the exact same problem on my elites.. ended up it was the wiring off the pedals that is going into the connector at the stick. Right where the wire went into the casting of the fitting that connects to the stick the wire had broken due to the constant movement. You couldn't tell until I used an ohm meter to check the pins on the connector.

I cut off the connector and remade one up. Works fine now.
