This is a screenshot history of my first liner sunk. I know there are loads of other threads like this but I thought I'd share my own liner experience.

I was cruising along off the north coast of Spain when there was a report of a ship at 220 degrees, medium range. Periscope depth. Realised it was a British passenger liner. Woah they can do 21 knots. My VII only 19. Couldn't swing the sub round in time before it overtook me. Realising that it was getting away and there were no other ships around I surfaced and started blasting away at its propellor area with the deck gun. This is when I remembered to take screenshots.

After I took it's rear end out with the deck gun.

It then started reeling round to starboard......torpedoes fired at this point.

Looks like a wreck after 1 torp hit and a few shells.

Suddenly started exploding for some reason and sank like a brick.

Those poor people.

Anyway, best patrol so far, lots of medals, 50k tons. Still a long way to go before the big 100 though.

sorry mates, but on my first career on my first convoy I found a PL. The problem was trying to sink it from a terrible angle in the middle of the convoy at 0100 with 400 meters visibility. But it worked and I left for Kiel 50,000 tons heavier after putting another torp into a T3 and a pair of C3's

They should have people jumping overboard.

Just been reading WilhelmShultz's thread about his liner experience. Dominicrigg raised the very true point that the British didn't go on cruises during WW2. Foreign holidays were not an option.

So.....no more guilt.

Explains why it exploded too. Tourists don't explode.

especially a cruise in the bay of biscay! though the troops on board may have been treating it like a holiday, they were aware of the threat of 'ze germans' u-boats. good job.

...Did you get a chance to go through the "Endless Buffet" line before it sank? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

...The one screen shoot above looks like the scene from the movie "Titanic", but there's no guy falling and striking the propeller! No propeller guy http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif
