Leave prop pitch on auto

for MW50, start your engine... leave it on low power... below 100, but i usually go all the way to zero. Engage MW50 and that is it. it will turn itself on and off when you p***ing 100% power mark.

Cheers!

If you've not been flying long, then I advise you not to monkey with the prop pitch on the 109 - fastest way to burn out your engine IMO. The auto prop pitch will be fine for your early learning.

MW50 ( if I'm not mistaken - and there are people who know better than me ) is a boost that only kicks in when your throttle is over 100% - BUT you must only engage/disengage it when engine is at idle ( throttle 0% ) - best done before takeoff.

Hope that helps and hope you have fun flying the game ! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Ok...

And what altitudes should I use MW50? how lond does it last or for how long is it safe to use it?

btw..
I can't outclimb anuthing in a 109, shouldnt outclimb almost any plane in IL2?

I flew.. (still do sometimes) Fighter Ace. another online combat sim which is not as realistic as this one, and the K has no match in high alt speed, climbs like a rocket. Only the spit 14 can catch it and out perform it.

MW50 lasts as long as there is methanol-water mixture in the tank. (should be ~10minutes) but you'll overheat quickly while it's on so pulse it (momentarily going to 110%) as required and back off otherwise. The K-4 can and does outclimb most aircraft in the game, just make sure you're not climbing too steeply because then a lower wingloading aircraft can make up the distance. (stay abouve ~240kph) Also, the later Russian planes climb like the devil down low so try and get them above 3k where they start to flounder.

the Bf109 have MW50 fluid for 26minutes use in total - powersetting above 100%
(you can fly a BF109 with enabled MW50 at 103% powersetting for "ever" with open coolers)

the Fw190D9'45 & Ta152 have MW50 fluid for 35minutes.

when the fluid is empty, you can see than the manifold pressure gauge dropping , you have to disable the MW50 system. otherwise you will damage your engine.
