If this guy ever does a movie like a remake of BoB or Pearl Harbor it would unbelievable! .. could you imagine a WW-1 dogfight too! .... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

One day someone's lightbulb will finally light up and we will see Tochy as a lead CG artist in a WW2 air battle movie.

Meanwhile, we are seeing what will 3d games look like in 10 years http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

For the time being he is wasting his time with a 3d movie. His animations of humans are below average, way worse than his work on vehicles. He may haven't realised that for example in a Hollywood studio he can recreate historical air battles with unprecedented quality and quantity of planes and ... let the actors do the acting.

and like Hristo said

Someday I hope there still is an interest in making WWII flight sims 10-15 years from now.

Touchy needs three things...

1to get someoen who can do sounds/voices for him

2make a feature-langth film....and i dont care how bad or lame the story is, i jus wanna see 2 hours of his CG scenes

Tochy never tried to model people, except when really necessary. And I guess nobody really expects him to do so - actors are much better (and possibly cheaper) for this role.

His films are just advertisements of his great skills. Except his CG skills, he is knowledgeable of planes and this makes him even more valuable.

He is improving over the years, just as 3d software and hardware is improving. Things which required months to be rendered a decade ago are now an everyday routine.

He doesn't need to find a team, the team needs to find him http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

A team of storywriters, producers, directors, actors and what not. He should be the icing on the cake, not the sole purpose of a movie. With him in the team, a historically accurate filming of Hartmann's memoirs (or similar) are so much closer.

I' not so sure he needs help on caracter animation, just study his 1945 movie, the pilot's movements are truly lifelike. Also the little boy moves correctly IMO.....

Atleast they act more lifelike than Arnold do http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif and he's come a long way.

I was referring to the non-aviation movies, but these ones are pretty good, although not lifelike like the planes.

WOW. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif He keeps outdoing himself. Watch the main gear and then tail wheel as the George touches down. Talk about detail. (I wish we had that kind of ground handling control in FB) Isn't that the George from that colour photograph kicking around of the 3 Georges in flight?

And the Mossies and Spits....amazing.

Tochy's clips almost make me weep with frustration that he's not making feature aviation films...he just keeps getting better. Check out "Seabird 1" and the "camera" moves--just like someone's holding a video cam on the ground as the Pete (I think) flies around. And how about that water!

I am even more stoked to fly a Mosquito now.
I shall have to go reread Terror in the Starboard Seat again to soothe the ache.

I'm by no means a Mossie expert; but do those mossie's have flame suppressant exhaust shrouds?

If so; I thought they were only fitted to night fighters??

In any case; it's another example of just how good Touchy is; amazing!

If I have a complaint, it's that everyone's props are synchronised to each other. But I feel like the Grinch for saying it.

They just look so real don't they. Didn't Industrial Light and Magic do Pearl Harbor? They need to give this dog a bone.

His work is excellent.... I wonder how long we will see that kind of deatil with good frames on a PC sim.. I have no doubt that eventually we will but I am thinking @5 years out at least....

5 years? Maybe allot less. Look at IL2, on low detail it looks like a game from 6 or 7 years ago, on its highest detail it can look fantastic. If BoB looks like a game on low detail from 2005 then what will it look like on maximum detail in a few years time?
