Now that we are going to have a spit with sand filter is there any hope we might get a 109 with the same? The void has always had that spot for the filter.

I've noticed the same thing with the P-47. It's as if the pilot is too large relative to the airframe. In the case of the Thunderbolt, I think that the canopy is too large. Some plastic model companies have made the same mistake.

Don't worry- a Spit VC with 4x20mm's and a Vokes filter isn't going to stay with anything faster than a Ju 52 for very long! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif It wasn't exactly the thoroughbred of the Spitfire stable.

That's ok, I will keep my Spit Vc where it belongs (in the hanger looking pretty) and hunt for the bad guys in the Tempest V. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Aaaah at last some HEAVY METAL comes our way.Great job with modelling.

I think the Tempest will be even heavier handling than the FW190F8.

Nice! Can't wait to fly either plane

Although the Tempest model is clearly a series II but the paint job is one typical of a series I during mid 1944. All the pictures of series II's I've got have only got invasion markings (if any at all) on the lower rear fuselage.

'Ere...i got a crackin' plan...one way to get the patch quicker...we don't really need the Tempest, just stick rockets on the Hurricane, a far superior aircraft...and just as fast...if ya get ya braces caught in a passing Focke Wulf..*AHEM*...whats that nurse?..medication already!?...TALLY HOOOoooo!!!

This is a Mark II
http://www.vflintham.demon.co.uk/aircraft/typhtem/temp6.jpg

It uses a Centarus Radial engine...much like a FW190 in appearance. Infact a FW190 was studied for help on the engine mounting. Although 200 were completed before the surrender of the Japanese, none made it to that front in any operational capacity. It was effectively a post-war fighter.

I believe the only air combat it saw was between Indian and Pakistan airforces (both bought the Tempest II) in the late 1940s or early 1950s.

mynameisroland

it was my fave Tempest , though the cockpit kind of looked 'stepped nicest cleanest looking.

Try flying a Spitfire Mark V against late war planes...thats a cr@p version already. The Mark Vc is a interesting plane...heavy firepower, weight of guns generally felt to be prohibitive, and the air/dust filter sapped top speed considerably. So yes...cr@p plane quite possibly http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

South African Vcs over the Aegean Sea. In this configuration the Vc- which was no longer the RAF's premier fighter aircraft- was used for ground attack purposes in the Mediterranean, usually with top cover provided by Spitfire IXs and VIIIs:

What about Spitfire Vc's with the RAAF? Where did they serve? Did they serve with 4 gun configurations?
