Hi, I'm Low_Flyer!

You may remember me from such threads as 'Auditions for a leading role':
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/588...881060683#5881060683 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/5881060683?r=5881060683#5881060683)

& 'German BoB cannon not up to the job. - official':
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/618...181008904#6181008904 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/6181008904?r=6181008904#6181008904)

You know, whenever people ask me what I'd like to be remembered for I say "Re-introducing Mornington Crescent to the Ubi forums" of course.

Let's get started, shall we? Bottomley's 4th edition rules, no switchbacks. Here we go...

Tottenham Court Road should be kind enough to newcomers yet still challenging to the old hands here.

I refer you to THE DEFINITIVE MORNINGTON CRESCENT RULEBOOK by Charles Ballox (400 pages, hardbound, HMSO, 2007, ISBN 400 789 20487 01, Amazon UK, fifty quid). I own this and the previous six editions---all copiously annotated.

Earl's Court!---how diabolical---you mean Australia. I stayed in a hotel not far from the EC tube. The strange howls and night noises took getting used to. I remember my eyes blowing out of their sockets when I first saw the local girls out on a freezing winter night---with just short coats, knickers, and shoes, and I looked like Scott of the Antarctic.

Subtle moves both of the above, but, likely, too clever by half---Allah be with me, I choose my old local---Finsbury Park.

KC, a major rail terminal so early in the? I think that one gets you sent to Coventry (via Peterborough and Birmingham New Street).

Mudchute.

Clearly.

Well, I lost the plot after we left Tottenham Court Road. I feel as though I've fallen asleep, missed my stop and woke up in a siding at 2 a.m.

The entire Scottish rail network is less complex than the London tube system, and it's easier to join the bloody masons than this game. However, I've downloaded the tube map and I'll watch this thread develop.

Now, can someone tell me what a Humph is?

Don't forget you can use the DLR as long as you get on at Gallion's Reach.

Difficult to connect with though, were that one's goal. One might have to get the bus home.

Sorry, B55, Marlborough Road is no longer an acceptable move, having being closed after trains were rerouted via the Bakerloo line. Miss five goes, or return to West Ruislip. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Disused stations are applicable under the Marquis of Kingsbury rules which are in effect in any American jurisdiction.

All you need is a map of the London Underground (probably help to get a map of the general transport system to be sure) and set of rules which are available here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mornington_Crescent_%28game%29).

It's probably the most widely played game on the planet, perhaps even the galaxy.

I'm sure there was an HMS Oxford Circus, and anyway, if there wasn't, there bloody well should have been.
