I was just a few shy of 3000 last week and thinking of celebrating. Now I'm down to 2514 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

It's worse then that yet the reason is VERY clear.....

Note my avatar, I used that 1 time quite some time ago and have not since. In kind, the PTO quiz thread is down from 66 pages to 16....That's a LOT of great info lost......

IOW......What we're seeing is archived information....my best guess yet I'd think reasonable.

I do not know what the big deal is about the post count in and of itself. I have shared some good info in these forums and then some of my posts were benign in nature. What people should be worried about is the technical information they have shared (that has been lost) or other ways they have genuinely helped out Il2. True there were a lot of other entertaining posts made that had nothing to do with Il2 that were fun to read but when I hear people talking about losing numbers in their post count it just comes off as silly. I truly hope that we get some good news come Monday about getting all of these "lost posts" back. On a side note Feathered, what exactly would you be celebrating? Just the 3,000 posts thing (which is a lot of typing!) or is it something deeper? I try not to think about how much time I spend in these forums, not to mention flying Il2. If I had a celebration like that it might just show me that I need to expand my world a little more even thought I am very comfortable where I am at right now.

Post count schmost count......There were some valuable threads here that contained a wealth of information.....That's the loss. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif If file space was a concern, I'd of been more then willing to volunteer a day and wipe out the OT silliness for months back.

If it was an issue of file space why not just get rid of some of the older posts.....

Lots of important/interesting information had been accumulated in that time; and lots of hours of hard work had gone into accumulating it. It was within easy reach, and could easily be found using either the search function, or by asking the regulars for a link.

If file space was a concern, I'd of been more then willing to volunteer a day and wipe out the OT silliness for months back

It may be a blessing in some ways. Some of the questions here did get very silly; and some of them were much too personal!

I only lost a couple of hundred this time. Over the years and several forum glitches and changes in forum software I've lost over 10k posts so this is nothing.

I don't even know or care how many posts I had before and lost this time, the time before I know I lost about 6000. It's a good thing because now I don't look like the spammer I used to be without habing to get a new account http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hey, how come we don't get any rank icons under our avatars to denote how helpful/active we've been ?

If i remember correctly, I posted about 300 times in the last three months.
