Is it possible to say, disable the two inner 50. cal's on my F4U, while only using the outer four until those run out of ammo, or vise verse.

It would be great if i could save 2 guns for when I'm in dire need having run out of ammo.

Although I'm not the greatest pilot, i do feel like 4 50's is sufficient.

I realize many pilots used to do just this in case of emergency's.

No, you can't do it. You can only do it on planes with two separate triggers, like P-47.

So on the P-47, the two inner guns use the trigger that would normally be used by the cannon on all over aircraft?

Exactly. First (MG) trigger fires outter 4, second (cannon) one fires inner 4 weapons.

Thanks for a quick response. I only wish we could do this with other aircraft.

This is available on quite a few other aircraft as well as the Jug. It just depends on whether the aircraft had twin triggers to separate groups of guns. If it didn't, then you can't.

For planes that had gunpods, you can assign a key or button to toggle those on and off as well.
