For late war 109s the limit was ~27-2800rpm with a 30 sec. limit for 3000rpm(as in a dive).

For the E it was ~24-2500rpm.

Did no checking, only from memory but are close for general useage.

I just posted a thread with a link to DB605 engines that you should look at.

Can you post a screen-shot of that please?

I'd like to see it.

I think it stands for "resolutions per minute" or some such thing

I flew the E7/B on a CEM server a couple days back, one of the few times I've flown a 109 since v1.11 was added. Since lots of folks were talking about burning engines I watched the RPM during flight. I never diabled the auto pitch, and the engine never passed 2400 or so, even during a dive I made in the course of a five minute flight. I think I throttled up to about 106% at max, so higher RPM could show druing the last 4% of throttle.

Once I had landed, I switched to manual pitch, and set 100% pitch and max power. The engine raced to the edge of the dial, at least 3000RPM (?) if not more, and within seconds of this the hard grinding noise was constant.

I'll have to test it more when I get back into my experten campaign.

some numbers I found for the DB601.

A > 2400

B > 2400

N > 2600

E > 2700

F > 2700

Now Issy, if you show up, never mind the insults if you disagree.

Yeah where is he?

We need more insightful comments of the type he makes right now.

G2 goes to 2800.

Here is my little experiment from last night (basement of the science building).

Flew a G6, my install is original FB 1.0, patch to 1b then to patched to the flawed 1.1 then patched to the 1.11.

OK the G6 flew like a pig....with prop set to auto the performance was that of a Cessna 172, I then set the prop to manual and was able to get much improved performance but nowhere near the pre-patch performance of the G6. Plus I over-revved and hurt the engine badly.

I then exited FB and ran the full patch that was release last week. Patches 1.0 to 1.11, went back into FB flew the same aircraft the G6, now the performance with prop set to AUTO was excellent, I was able to hurt a couple of Laggs and some Il-2's....b n z like I am supposed and even hold my own in a little turning duel before "unloading the ac" and extending out past those nasty green tracers coming by the canopy!

I have not opinion except I am happier with the LW performance after doing this little escapade witht he patcher.

Any of you folks done this and have an opinion it seems as if this is just a free for all as to performance and patch issues. Fix one thing break three others.....I just wanna fly and that is what I do but a G6 should not perform like a Cessna....man oh man 750fpm climb rates and top speed with 50% fuel 300khm!!!!

After I re-patched with the big patch that thing climbed very well and accelerated out in the horizontal to 500 kmh in good time....I AM VERY HAPPY...AGAIN!!!

Give it try folks there is nothing to lose at this point.

Happy hunting and check six!
