Anybody have perfect graphics and flawless framerate performance (no chop)in singleplayer/QMB? Could you post your system specs and graphics card please? I'm frustrated and want to upgrade.

BTW...

I'm running 512MB ram, ATI 8500 series, and the equivalent or better of a pentium 3 (not sure what it is...custom built by somebody else). Any idea what could make my framerate go up and keep perfect graphics settings?

I am getting excellent framerates (35+ average in Black Death and Kamikazee tracks) with graphics maxed in game settings and VC settings.

I have 6800u, 2800AMD and 1gb 400mhz ram.
In 1152x864 on perfect (water=0) and AA=4, AF=2 with s3tc ON. it never goes under 50 fps, and goes to 100 and more. Looks beaotifull http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif and works flawless http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif. If you ever get under 50 fps and look around from your cockpit the whole feel of flight is GONE http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif. It never stops to amaze me when someone says something like http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif25??? or 35???. Thats slide show http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif. Turning water to=1 makes things uncomfortable http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif. And resolutions like 1600x1200 on perfect with AA and AF http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif? LOOOOOOOL! Water on 3 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif? For screenshots. Maybe double 6800ultra could give playable frames. But i even doubt that.

No, no, no€¦ This is how it is €" There is no computer available today that is capable of running PF (or any other flight sim for that matter). I€ve played PF on a modified Cray computer with a next generation dual PCI OD (Over Drive€¦ or was it OverDo€¦ Don€t remember) Express Nvidia GPU and 120GB of next generation ODOURAM and I couldn€t get more than a 1000 fps. 100 fps!? That€s a slide show I tell you. BAH!

P4 3.2GHz, 1.0GB 3200DDR RAM, and a PCI-Express X300SE Graphics Card on PERFECT = 17 FPS avg on my rig. On EXCELLENT, I can get twice that at the very least.

P4 3.0 GHz, 800 MHz FSB mobo, 1 GB DDR 400, X800 Pro. 3Dmark03 ~ 10,200.

Usually gives ~ 40+ FPS in excellent at 1600 x 1200 with 2x FSAA (obviously, will occasionally drop with a lot of explosions etc but usually very fluid and smooth).

Frame rates are similar in 1280 x 960 in perfect.

Generally I play in excellent now because with the new water effect it's quite good looking and the benefits of being able to use 1600 x 1200 with comfortable FPS usually outweigh the benefits of the water and increased view distance in perfect mode. Although, if ATi get their drivers sorted and take care of the texture corruptions evident with 4.11 I might be tempted back to perfect again.

Regards,

RocketDog.

I average 32 fps when looking at an island and 50 fps when over the open ocean with Perfect Water (water=0). Everything in game set at max and 2xQ antialias on 1024x768 res 32 bit color.

If is go to water=1, I get 20 to 24 over an island, and 30 to 35 over the water. (same antialias setting and res.)

Ship AA doesn't slow my rig down much, 2 to 5 fps max.

System specs in the Sig...

I run a 3.0 GHz P4 HT 800 MHz FSB w/ 1.5 gigs 3200 corsair ram, BFG 6800 GTOC to 410/1050 and a SB Audigy 2 - I run at the highest rez with perfect graphics and water=3. My FPS averages 55-60, never dipping below 50. Seems like the perfect combination to me...

Athlon64 3500+, 1Gig PC3200 RAM, Gigabyte 6600GT w/128MB vid card, 80GB Western Digital SATA150 Hard Drive. Nothing OC'ed.

I usually get in the 50-60s playing perfect everything (including water=3), but that's at 1024x768. I usually don't go higher because it's a good resolution with 4xAA and screentshots/movies capture better.

Tough to recommend updates if you do not even know what kind of system you have. Do a search for, and download the small program, WCPUID, it will tell you what processor and motherboard chipset you have.

Right off the bat though you do not have enough ram to run the game smoothly no matter what rig you have, get another 512mb of ram in there if you can. You will not know if your motheroboard is even capable of this though until you know what it is.

With so little apparent knowledge of computers, you are in a tough spot and ripe to be screwed by the market that caters to the masses. You better either research and learn what makes a computer a good gaming rig so you can protect yourself. Start doing searches for high performance gaming computers and read up on them on the web and in books and magazines.

You will get two to three times more for your dollar if you learn about and assemble your own gaming computer, than if you just throw money at a current company of vendor for a ready-built rig. If you are going to pay someone else for a ready-made computer, you better be at least educated enough to specify what must-have components you will need and want.

Your financial condition will also dictate what you do. If you are rolling in doe you can throw it at someone to build you a good rig, if not then it is essential you learn to build your own or you will be screwed over and dissapointed for sure with what your money gets you.

Well...not quite flawless graphics.

I get about 30fps average on Kamikazi.

AMD AthlonXP 2700+ (TBred-B)
1GB of RAM
Radeon 9700Pro (Cat 5.6)

Excellent mode (all set to high)
1280x1024x32
Trilinear Filtering, S3TC
2xAA, 4xAF

I've made a few compromises for my graphics but they will do for now. I used to run in Perfect mode but the extra resolution for my LCD just puts it a bit too slow for the time being.

Hi,

Running smooth here. Specs:

AMD64 4000+
Asus ATi X1800XT
Asus A8N-E NF4 Ultra mobo
2gb Corsair PC3200
CoolerMaster RealPower550

running 1600x1200 6xAA 16xAF and Aniso enabled in setup under X800 settings. Also using the new DLL's and i use Water=2.

Getting a average framerate of 30+ in the BlackDeath track.

Athlon 64 3500+
6800Gt 256 not oc`d.
1 gig 3200 ram

Absolutely perfect settings 2 X AA. Very smooth with NO stutter at all in QMB, but a little in DCG with dense settings (lots going on in 3rd party mod).

What Jumoschwanz said is very true Jagged Raven.

The cheapest improvement you can get will be another 512Mb of Ram. Back when my pc was not that great, 1Gb Ram eliminated 95% of stutters I experienced.

Having recently upgraded ( so recently, I'm still installing stuff ), I urge you to spend a few weeks reading up on the latest tech ( CPU's, motherboards etc. ). I did and it certainly helped a lot.

Post in the Community Help Forum - you will always get good advice there http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Harldy ever a slow down, at least 25fps even over cities. No stutters at all which are even more annoying.

have you tried the new dll's?
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/63110913/m/8891044193

i just downloaded fraps http://www.fraps.com/download.php and have been trying different water settings and resolutions while watching my framerates. some conf.ini settings can also be changed for better performance.

i'm looking for the best combo, but i think this sim is based around 1024x768. from my limited knowledge of this game it seems that is the best resolution for performance and visibilty...its hard to see other airborne planes.

1600x1200x32 looks great but has bad performance with aaa, etc. i'll see how effects=0 behaves as that's supposed to remove shading for some things. i just started but it appears as though 1024x768 will be my combat res but the new dll's have helped alot of people so there's still hope. water=4 looks the best for me but is the biggest performance hit...so far.

Well, I can tell you one thing, you have plenty of processor, plenty of ram, and plenty of video card. I've heard a lot of bad reports about MSI mobo's (take that with a grain of salt), but that aside you should have a rocket sled there. Sounds like roll up the sleeves time.

I'm with Jumoschwanz, 512 is nowhere near enough Ram, IL2 will easily use 750 by itself and its also a very processor intensive program as well. As for the rest; research, research, research.

Well I'm running a P4 HT at 4.4G (overclocked from 3.8). Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX (also overclocked). Realtek Audio, 1G DDR3 400MHZ RAM. According to FRAPS I hover around 70FPS at 1280x940 and with all options set to Excellent with the exception of Landscape Detail I believe which is at perfect. Game looks beautiful with no slow down or choppiness etc. Hope this helps.
