After hearing bits and bobs concerning the PE-2 I would like to know, are we going to get it as a flyable? I know the russians already have it as a flyable but are we going get it? If not, why not, as the russians already have it? and finally if i managed to get hold of a Russian CD would i be able to play it on my PC?

P.s.
It would make a very nice edition to the CZ war.

First of all, russians don`t have it as a flyable yet...but they will. Big questions is...will western market get that particular russian addon or not. I am hoping that we will get it.

There is people on the west wanting to buy the russian add on. This means more money for Oleg and Co. I'm sure that the russian add on will get to our hands, one way or the other ...

if it's only compatible with russain version of the game, you may need to have more than just the add-on...

Forgotten Battles and particularly the Eastern Front are unfinished and undressed without the Pe-2 ... just as PF is neked without certain key elements that are missing from it... like a CBI map and a certain torpedo bomber frinstance.

...hmmm the darkside of the force does have a strong effect on the weak minded.

Well i'd pay ‚£30 just for the flyable PE-2 series of aircraft, note 'series' as in i want more than 1 mark for ‚£30, two versions would do http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We was waiting for the Ju-88 and Pe-2 since the beginning of the Il2 serie, and we want all pay for that addon...but...Ubi has said "No thank, we are not more interested in Il2 addons"....

Would the Russian version work on Western PCs? Excuse the ignorant question - all the computers I've ever used have been assembled in the UK.

I may have to buy a passport and fly to Moscow...

I hope there's no clause in the contract between Ubi and 1C:Maddox that prevents 1C selling add-ons to us directly, via the internet. Maybe Flight1 could host the download - they've got an excellent secure and reliable download system.

Right, or if you have friends in Moscow...you could ask them to send you Il2-AEP-PF russian version and...of course...also the Pe-2 addon.

I am hoping that we will get it.

If it can be made compatible with 4.0 and PF and doesn't turn the user interface to Cyrillic I will be trying to source a copy from somewhere.

Ok, I am a bit confused here... Why not include it, if it is modelled and is included in russian version???

I know....after its been released on the russian market for a while, offer it as a pay for download such as LOMAC 1.1 or Half Life 2! Simple really.....it cuts UBI out of the equation. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

I'm hoping that we will get a lot of something else long before we get a Pe-2! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Its a terrible shame they couldnt throw the pe2 in with the addon planes, I mean we did pay $150 for Sturmo, FB, AEP, PF.

According to your logic LS, programmers should get air instead of paychecks, right? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Lets go back in years and see how much stuff we got for free, shall we?

is like 1dollar for each plane, ok varient, but still thats value for money http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

still, without il2 etc u would be flying cfs3 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Well, according to Saqson, who posted in the long Pe-2 thread in ORR, that they are working on all of the Pe-2 & Pe-3 variants currently in the game as AI.

These will first be released (if all variants are able to be modelled that is) in the Russian add-on (no, the Russian's DO NOT have it yet, as the add-on has not been released), and then hopefully, somehow this add-on will be released to the west. However, it is not definate that it will be released in the western markets.

That's the jist of what Saqson said, and hopefully we will be seeing these two aircraft, and variants, in the game at some point.

Have‚¬īnt really been following this issue, so maybe this is a stupid question:

Why would‚¬īnt they release the Pe-2 for western version? Is it a legal issue, or to make us bye the Russian version (which I definetly would http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif )?

I see no reason they would‚¬īnt... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Because at this point UBI has no interest in that addon. At least right now. Future will show.

That's odd. With all of the international on-line play, I would have thought that Ubi would want to maintain similarity between the various releases.

This was a very important aircraft. Is there a contact at Ubi to whom we can send our request to and demonstrate the importance of these aircraft?

...in that addon only, or in all the possible Il2 addons?
Ubi would be interested in a Pe-2_Ju-88 addon? Would be interested in a MED addon? Or in a Sapanish addon?

For my opinion they have closed with Il2 as for Lock-On some time ago.

I wish Oleg would jump on the same bandwagon that FS2004 folks have and charge by the plane. I would give $15.00 for the PE2 another $10.00 for the PE3 and so on. Heck I would throw in at least $5.00 for a I16 model 29 (2 x 7.62 and 1 x 12.7)

Aaron_GT

This would mean that people would have different plane sets and online compatibility would then be a huge problem. If only 5% play online, maybe that's not a real issue, though.

Aaron is correct, it would create chaos in MP. Sure, SP would benefit from it.

I for one would gladly pay for flyable Pe-2...the Eastern Front is incomplete without it, I'm not complaining though,Oleg...it's the BEST game....Bolshoy Spaseeba!

If Ubi aren't interested in selling any more Il-2 series addons to the West, then maybe 1C can sell directly to us over the internet without breach of contract or anything like that?
