You might want to do a search on sandy bridge. Try using the words 'sandy bridge recall' and maybe 'flawed chipset' as well.

Wait until the revised Sandy Bridge boards hit the market in the next month and you should be good to go. There really isn't any other option besides Sandy Bridge if you want dollar versus really good performance atm, we just have to wait until the revised chipsets hit, probably early april.

Actually it looks like the revised boards have already hit the market as of late last week.

Intel should never have done a recall, it was far more sensible to disable the SATA II bridge and ship with just the two SATA III ports ... 99% of users will never need the extra SATA ports anyway.

the other option is to wait and get the new 8 core SB due for Q3 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Might not be exactly cheap though.

Pocketpete, let me give you some advice. Wait for the game to come out. Read the boards here and see what gives you the most bang for the buck. That's what I'm doing. Wait 2 or 3 weeks more and you'll know all that you'll need to know.

Great advice. The big manufacturers make a packet from us if we buy the latest and greatest. Go for bang for buck.
