Hi all,

I recently found this hilarious glitch...

I added all the planes (Including the AI aircraft) to a carrier in an online dogfight.

Me and some friends decided to attach the MXY7-11 Ohka to the G4ME betty on the deck. But the parasite aircraft LEFT his chocks IN while attaching to the mothership. I then took the Betty off the carrier (Yes its possible)with my friend in the ohka attached.

Upon reaching 1,000 meters... I dettached him. But to my surprise... HE WAS FROZEN IN MID-AIR as if he were on a CARRIER. Apparently the game thought the aircraft was still on the carrier with chocks in when it was released from the mothership.

The parasite plane tried releasing chocks while frozen in air with no results... He was stuck in the air permanently... (Until he bailed)

To prove this worked over several trials I gave several of my friends rides to 1,000 meters to be stuck with the others... lol

One of them I released inverted and they were frozen in the air inverted... hehe

A group of 4 or 5 planes I released in a group and they all stayed in the air frozen...hehe

It works also with the TB3 and I-16.

I will post screenshots and make the record available for you guys soon.

I had a misn in my vvs fighters project where the TB3 froze in midair on approach. Upon study and experimentation ( http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif) I discovered that the minimum final approach altitude is 500m, adn i had it approaching at 250. the thing will ttry and climb to 500 suddenly, and then nose over and freeze. Was correctced by changing to 500.

However, doesnt sound like this is the case here. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

In a couple of patch versions of the original IL2 Sturmovik and I think one of the FB patches there used to be a random freeze in midair bug too. It was actually random with no apparently repeatable cause, but possibly related to something in the netcode.

And here are pics from the frozen I-16:

Introducing the new VTOL I-16...

Notice the difference in the movement of the plane in the background as evidence in the following images...http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e35/13th_Liberator/ScreenHunter_156.jpg

And here is something interesting... Someone sunk the carrier. As the carrier tilted upwards the I-16 was drawn back to the deck like a magnet...

(Carrier rising towards I-16 frozen in air)

(I-16 "sucked" back to the deck like a magnet)

So in summary...

It appears that chocks act like a sort of "magnet." Clinging to nearby objects...even the sky...

Your brother (or at least _someone_ who said his brother discovered this, ahem, feature recently) mentioned this about half an hour ago @ Hyperlobby... a time for a bug report perhaps?

Yes me and my brother did this in hyperlobby.
(\=RG=/Liberator and FIRE-FOX33) We figured it out together as we were on two planes connected. We did this on the official IL2_Air_Racing server of hyperlobby.

Yes its an I-16 in a Gee Bee skin...hehe

P.S. AIR RACING IS AWESOME! ! ! ! !

Only seen this with the TB-3 on approach to landing, some time ago. That bug is gone I think.
