in real life, the Avenger could carry depth charges and several other bombs, torpedoes, etc.. please, if there are any more patches, we have no other means of hitting submerged subs. Please add depth charges to the weapons list .. Pacific Fighters is stil half-baked.

For now they are no use as PF has no support for submerged submarines and doen't calculate anything under sea surface. You'll have no one to use them against http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif And seems that support for such stuff will not be available in PF.

That's a good idea. However I don't know how it is going to work since I don't think (when I think of it, I never really attacked submerged sub in FB http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif) othat submarines are really deep submerged in FB.
Nevertheless, flyable with depth charges -- sounds excellent to me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Well sort off, we have periscopes, that fire endless torpedos. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif You have to destroy the periscope to sink the "sub" (which is not there except for the scope). http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I've destroyed submerged subs with bombs many a time(no not the periscope). So why not depth charges?

The Kiwis carried depth charges on their Corsairs and used them as daisy-cutters in the Solomons campaign.

I don't think concussion blasts are calculated in the sim. Bomb blasts have no effect under water unless something changed in 4.02. Agree we should have depth charges historically I just don't think they would be effective. Sort of like the AB cluster bombs which are pretty useless in game due to the bizarre blast radius physics in the game.

Hello,
submerged submarines have submerged shape (they crash against ships before the periscope come close) and they can be destroyed by setting delay time of 1 second, provided that you hit exactly the submerged part.
