Oh,...some of the ads are a hoot. Check this out.

Hmmm. Could those be photos of Heinie, Kuntz, Ploughman and Breeze?

Those adverts add to the immersion.

Thats great. There are some truly amazingly well written books around these days. But there is something about reading the old material that makes it so much more profound, for me anyway.

Great post.

I see at the bottom of the front cover theres a bit entitled What about our aircraft instruments? pg 116" is that any good?

Thanks again.

Never heard about the 'ice cream cones' painted on the fuselage signifying easy jaunts before.

Thanks for posting. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

That was wonderful, thanks for sharing. I love the adds too, it makes you think of what adds would be like 60 yrs from now. ~S~

Ah, I misunderstood. By 'holiday jaunts to Milan and Genoa in her misspent youth,' I failed to detect the knowing look, raised eyebrow and bit of a nudge.'

Not really easy jaunts then.

Most of the articles are actually kind of insane IMO (flying tanks, underwater tanks, electromagnetic death ray etc.).

Sooo,....Monday was a bit of a blur. Here is Monday, Part deux. with a nice DO-217, the "How Aircraft Instruments work" article, and how to be an ace by using Allison engines.

The DO-217 is from 1942, btw.
