is it modeled, i dont think ive ever noticed it being damaged

seems like this would be a major thing in the damage model since liquid cooled engines are so vulerable there

also if its not modeled then that takes away the main disadvantage of the planes with liquid cooled engines

It doesn't say it's been damaged like it does for some other things like control cables but they sure do take a beating. It's about all you can do to bring down an IL-2 besides sawing off a wing, even that doesn't always stop the little buggers.

does it show anything leaking out of the plane, like it does with fuel leaks?

if so maybe i always just thought it was the fuel leaking

The lighter, almost white smoke is a fuel leak. The darker smoke is smoke coming from your engine. I'm not sure if this is specifically for radiator damage or anything but more of a general engine damage. When my engine starts to smoke at all, even a little bit, I do my best to disengage and RTB. When your engine starts to smoke it isnt a matter of if it will fail but when, so get back in one piece.

yeah, and once on the ground the fuel just sorta pours outta the plane to

would think the dark smoke is oil
