Has anyone played with this thing before? Thinking of getting a new Joy and figured I would give this a shot. Doesn't have FFB though.

same centering system as on the x45. hence my decision to buy a ch fighterstick. people are already complaining about the huge deadzone in it like in the x45. try before you buy if at all possible.

DR thats the EXACT reason why I didnt consider the x52. I love my X45 but after 3 years I have alot of slop in it near the center. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I'm going to get a stick that will alst and that I can buy parts for.

When I had problems with the trigger on my x45 and thought I might have a bad switch I was told by saitek they did not sell parts and to replaced the trigger switch would have been $45 and I could get a reconditioned x45 for $39. Ch would have charged me $5-$10 for the switch and thats all.

Getting mine sometime this week http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I'm going over from a Cyborg Evo some I'm used to the way the stick is set out, but all those buttons http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif Going to do some damage............Probably to myself!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Ah well... Time will tell how long it holds up.

The X-52 is a wonderful stick, and a great bargain when compairing it to any other hotas with similar features. With on the fly profile shifting, you can change from bomber to fighter mode even in overtly complex sims....heck you can even have profiles for diferent parts of the mission, the only limit is your HD space.

I emailed Saitek Support and they just said that is to be exptected.

But now that I am flying PF I have noticed in the Controls Setup, when you go to the Joystick calibration, it appears to have two small squares in the center of the grid, and one has a VERY FINE control for the joystick, and the other seems to have the usual deadzone. So, why does the one have such a fine control, and why doesn't the game use it?

If I remember correctly....one square is how the game is seeing your stick output and the other square is how the game is using the ouput after you adjust the sliders...but I could be wrong.

so for those that have it, is it worth the 100+ dollars for one of them? especially since im using a terrible Logi Extreme 3d pro

While I never claim to be Mr Spelling, I can assure you I know how to spell hangar/er. I actually own both domains. Hanger is used for a few reasons, not the least of which is cause it calls attention to it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

If you go to the main page you will see I play off the spelling. Combathanger/ar (http://www.combathanger.com/index2004.html)

Eventually I may let hangER go, but it all started when the logo came back misspelled years ago from a printer. Besides...in air combat, if you lose your E, your A is toast anyway.

Good reply! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I thought you may be Euro with English as your second language, so I made the correction as graphical as I could.

No I claim all spelling and gramatical mistakes as the result of 10 out of 12 years in public school....and my beloved state university http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

I actually am not done proofreading the review, and I know it has a few doozies of typos in it, but some of my squadmates wanted it before the holliday, so its up now, but no links on my main page yet....don't want google spewing my bad English too far till I at least attempt to fix it.
