When is Oleg and Team going to fix this one?

Seems rather silly that using no gunsight view that you could not read the compass.

Oleg - this has been an issue for quite some time now - would be good to see it fixed.

Thanks

Yak~3?

Probably won't get fixed. But, we have our own Fix:: If you push hard on the stick the negative gees will float the compass face below the gunsight and you can usefully see it briefly. Okay its not much but it works.

Although in The Patch they at least reversed the compass so it reads correctly...when you can see it. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif It was 180 degrees backwards.

Push down on stick - I tried this - this is not right http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Why fix a compass you can't see?

Sometimes I really wonder about this development team.

can be really irritating that's for sure if you don't wanna use the speed and direction bars or fly with cockpit off (which I don't for campaigns at least).

Sharpens up your ability to spot landscape features though, haha.

We don't plan to "fix" the gauges that are not visible due to position of the head of the pilot and stick.
Or do you like that we'll make incorrect cockpit? Do you think why we did in the left low corner the digit indicators? Right, that to cover such cases!

The solution would be only one - to make possible movements of the head left - right (strafe) and down (just for couple types of aircraft).
But we do not plan to make it in this sim. Sorry, stay as it is.

The negative G trick does work. I fly without map icons etc and whenever I need to know my heading in a Yak I push the stick forwards then pull back on it. Play around with it, it's slightly tricky, but once you crack it, it's easy.

S!, Oleg. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
There is a question I want to ask you.
What do you think about a translucent stick instead of changing gauge's position? If you have no plan to fix it in FB, what about in your future sims?

Incredible: that's like saying... "I don't care whether or not the aircraft in my plane function as neccesary to fly them, but only that they look like they used to."

Oh wait... that's EXACTALLY what it's saying. I can't believe you'd rather leave the yak cockpit historically correct, than move the compass a little bit, so the damned A/C can be used in anything more than n00by seeting rooms. Wise words from the creator though: If at first you don't succeed, to Hell with it.

To hell with you too.

It's pretty simple: the cockpit are as accurate as possible, and you can still read the heading on the toolbar.
Period.
You rather prefer an inaccurate cockpit just because you consider the toolbar a "n00by" setting? Your problem.

And show some respect, or leave this room. And quit playing FB...

On a side note: good to see the head movement implementation coming in the next sim.

Oleg, although I disagree in terms of playability and immersion, I appreciate your response.

Thanks - and keep up the good work - I for one, am a big fan http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

responses like this one below are pretty much guaranteed to p*ss Oleg off and reduce the time he takes to visit these forums.

Thanks Oleg for taking the time to explain your position.

Yes absolutely!!!!
If this had been done from the very beginning. Before we ever got to See a Yak cockpit or an IL2 cockpit or an I-16 cockpit. You would not have seen one word from us on this issue!!!!
Don't you see? just 30mm shorter on a gunsight body here 50mm shorter on a control column there & we would have never known the difference! & we would be able to see our instruments!

Yes & we do appreciate it believe me we do. But now we have full real servers with this feature turned off! Along with minimap path. What are Yak & early IL2 drivers supposed to do now?! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Think what you people like, i'm free to express my opinion, and though i rarely "attack" the expressions of Oleg, i think this is just showing that he cares less about the performance of IL-2, than the asthetics.

Frankly, i don't give a damn... I don't fly Yaks, and don't plan on it.

Do what you people like, i'd just assume see it kept the same.
