Hi guys;

I was flying the P-51 on the RC2 beta patch and while fighting against some japanese planes on the online pacific scenery (i was playing offline), i've got a shot on the engine and start to lose power... I've tried put throttle forward and back manytimes and nothing happens... So, i taught in try to shut down the engine and then start it again and Bingo! The engine is back just like a new one!

Take a look on it... Thanks.

oh phew, I thought this was going to be one of those whines like, "My P-51 isn't all powerful and I can't destroy everything, and the engine is too weak!"

I'm sorry I underestimated you. I seem to learn new things everyday! I agree with this statement, and I'll try it out. Send your bug reports to Oleg's il2 beta e-mail address, he'll get them there.

(I feel like a mod today)

Ehehehehe, no problem bud... I must admit that the Mustang is having an incredible peformance at the sim., just don't know if it is realistic or not. I've sent an e-mail to Oleg already, i hope he can solve this bad bug before the release of the oficial patch. I just want to say thanks more one time for the improvement of the .50...

Flew Mustang last night for the first time. Yes, I resisted leaked beta.

So, I didn't notice this on a Mustang, but had it appear on some other plane (not sure, but I think it was P-40E). Only thing different is that engine was smoking a bit, so it didn't get back like new, but as an engine shot up, which in couple of minutes almost completely lost power.

This is actually a feature the Mustang really had. It was similar to WEP and was referred to as WHINE ("Well Hell It's a New Engine!") and was only to be used in an emergency. It is somewhat undermodelled in the current build of FB, real-life examples being capable serving in-flight refreshments to the pilot as well.

I think you shut your engine off by mistake. Tried it...doesnt work.

I think the issue the original poster is talking about, is loss of throttle control (assuming i read it right... i'm tired).

If that's the case, it's not a bug, and your throttle cables got shot. This does and has happend to me in many diff aircraft. The only way you can consider landing at that point, is to get above ur base (2k'ish) pull striaght up, and lower flaps and gear, then spiral at the deck and make an emergency landing.

hmmm......i think it just happens sometimes. I had the same problem with 109s, 190s and others. sometimes you get hit and your throttle doesn't respond anymore. engine off, on again and it works, strange but its there, was already in 1.11.

2 things we need in FB:
The 110 and the desert!!!

Hi!
I have played recently many of doghight RC01 and in my opinion P-51 now can get a lot of shoot (expecialy 20mm) and still flying. Now is like flying tank http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. In 1.2 beta unofficial DM ofP-51 seems more "natural".

No, P-51 is hardly a flying tank. Engine is very easy to kill. The only thing I haven't seen is the tail section come off like it does on many other fighters.
