Make a speech that shows, your personality, wit, intelligence, charm and maybe a few obscenities. THE PEOPLE (or me if the people be fools) will chose the best speech for each category. Good luck! Note: The mods will still be in power http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif .

Vice President- Halfway-Decent job. You weren't awesome enough to be President.
President- Nice job. To bad you'll probably get assassinated.
King/Queen- Good job. Your speech is excellent
Dictator for Life- Great job. Your speech is amazing.
Assassin- Hell, you own the forums.

What is the subject of this speech? Why one should win? Or any topic of one's choosing?

It's not really elections if you're the only one who votes. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

@Edengoth- Write about your contribution/dominance to the forums or anything that makes you look better than everyone else. Why should you win? Eternal glory http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif .
@thekyle- power to the people = power to bladencrowd http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif.
@ThePheonix1030- Kings/queens reign till they die. Presidents rei- keep people in check, for 4 little years.

@Phoenix, Not quite, a King has to worry about angry mobs while a president has to worry about angry congressmen. At least in America they do.

@bladencrowd, I'm not entirely sure that this thread isn't some attempt to usurp the authority of the mods.

I'd rather be the assassin who kills the winner, spectacularly.

And the diff b/w presidents and kings is the former are elected by the people, the latter by god. however in the US, many presidents (usually republican) tend to think they were appointed by god. In fact, the Founding Fathers would be appalled at the religiosity of modern day America.

Cookies for anyone who reads the whole thing:

I am UchihaKarasu (aka Marka) I am still young and full of life, but have been complimented on my extreme maturity for someone of my age. Though my personality/emotions may seem rather bland and sarcastic, I have a very positive view on life (trying to see the good in everything while still recognizing the bad) and am not afraid to stand up for what I believe is right. I try to do whatís best for those around me, even if they donít realize Iím trying to help them. When it comes to arguments, I often remain neutral, giving advice to both sides, unless I feel that one side absolutely has the right idea.
Friendship with others comes easily, considering how willing I am to open up but still be closed at the same time. I have a tendency to fascinate those around me because of my different out look on life and ability to perceive a situation before it is acted upon. I can also read people extremely well and mostly understand their feelings.
I believe that knowledge is necessary in any situation. I am very learned in the History of the world around me but at the same time I do my best to keep an eye on modern times. I am also knowledgeable about the art of war (I read to much Machiavelli) and weaponry, both modern and old. I like the solve puzzles and am very good at doing so, troubling myself until the problem is solved. I also have a great curiosity in how the things around me work and often investigate. Strategy isnít my strongest ability but I can still crack some good ones every now and again.
I am a person who manages to be rather invisible and am not usually noticed by other people around me (unless Iím drawing XD). And though I very, very rarely resort to it, I am a good liar but I avoid the habit as much as possible, unless Iím using the talent for a good purpose. Secrets arenít really my thing and I donít keep anything from those around me, but there are things I only reveal if simply asked to.
I am the kind of person who sets a goal or morals and sticks to them and believes in myself the entire way. I am stubborn and am not easily moved when it comes to my opinion on matters, but am willing to admit when I am wrong. As a human being, I recognized I am flawed and that I canít be perfect or have everyone agree with me. Sometimes my personal views get in the way of my better judgment on certain circumstances. None the less I do not let my beliefs get in the way of my views of another person, and I always try to see a situation from the many points of views before I judge it.

I hope that you take this speech seriously and understand that I speak the truth but realize I am not always the best judge of my character.

Lol, k k, seriousness aside (Marka can't be serious for too long)

k, i did mine, sry if I get off track, I did this while listening to the Obama acceptance speech again, anywho here it goes:

As many of you know, I am D1sturbedme_468. I am full of youth and the spirit of us assassins with the mind of Eisenhower when it comes to tactics. I play war games very much and can solve almost any strategic movement, along with my knowledge of weapons both modern old, and planned ones to be released in the future. I am always optimistic, believing everything happens for a reason and the best we can do is to adapt to it and better ourselves. But I will stand for what is just and in the hopes of the people. But to know this, we must ALL have knowledge for without knowledge, we are no more than beasts playing the petty game of war. So with this knowledge of the past, I hope to learn from people's previous mistakes and to mold an almost perfect solution for every problem, helping out both sides than just throwing kindling on the fire. I am a religious person of Christ, it is true, and I have learned many lesson from it such as love thy neighbor, and to never act out in violence towards one another, who are we to condemn anyone to death as we are their mortal equal with no power at all? I believe an era of peace shall soon descend on us, but only through us can it happen, these countries we live in were not founded for the fun of it, but to unite and solve problems, people believing that through their hard work, their descendants would have a better life, 250 years ago, people where you are now heard of a revolution for Freedom, 70 years ago, people where you are now concieved the idea to stop racism and gave their lives for the cause, now in 20 years, what will people say you contributed? I believe that we shall bring the era of peace so mankind may thrust his sword and means of bringing death's cold embrace upon us into the fire, and that life with prosperity can emerge, this dream may not happen in our lifetime, but if we can lay a foundation for the future to work off of, how shall we feel? I shall feel overjoyed. So I am not asking to choose me, I am asking who to choose what is right.

ok then,
my name is Charlie_Romeo, im 19, male, welsh and a student. I say what i think of a person to them, i dont like people saying 1 thing to somebodys face then diffrently behind thier back. I can and do keep secrets but i will tell someone the secret if it will help/benifit the person i.e "Mike that aint ur baby, she cheated on you she told me" thats jus an example, otherwise id have to tell a secret to you which would cancel out my previous comment therefore i would delete it then i would delete this part never telling u the secret and never breaking the rule even tho i havent set it for myself.
went off on a tangent didnt i lol. um i like Bulmers cider if u ever want to give me a present, thats about it.

Big news. I completely and utterly failed last night. I meant the mods and all the rest of the forum members get the vote, not solely me. Sorry for the mistake!

Wow, this is a pointless little idea... But it has been interesting reading you guys big yourselves up in your speeches.

*COMMENT REMOVED*

A better idea would be to have people write each others praises.

EDIT: Comment removed as totally unacceptable. Ubisoft forums are 'E' rated, meaning they can be used by children. If you are not sure, don't post it.

____________

I vote for UchihaKarasu - most genuine so far.

(edit: I apologise for my comment - although it was obviously sarcasm, it was also gratuitous and not suitable for a young person to read)

So will you be editing the thread into a poll for the people who are nominated? Or will you just go through and count people by the posts? Also, when will the entries and polls close?

Not that it matters anymore. At this point I don't think I need to make a speech. Afterall, I have already fought and won the right to vote for all of you.

The best choice is obvious! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm handsome, charismatic, entertaining, and I always speak in flawless grammar!

No please, hold your applause, I'm still just a man, but an extraordinary one at that.

bladencrowd

Can't be a poll since it would reset every time I add a new person, so I'll count each vote. The entries and polls will close in about 1 week, maybe 2 weeks time.

thekyle0
09-12-2009, 09:05 AM
So set a date that you will close the entries. then put their usernames in the poll and then allow another few days for people to put their vote in. Otherwise you might have people changing their votes, or voting twice, and it will just be hard to count it accurately.

Not too long ago, we had an official forum awards contest with a lot of different categories. We typically organize something like that some time after a game release, after the excitement is slightly dimmed and regular forum members had sufficient time to interact with one another.
Hence this thread seems a little bit superfluous especially at this moment, when the forums are extremely crowded with new discussions every day.

In any case, I'm not going to close both of the "election" threads at this time, but this whole process better not morph into a Hawk-forum-type spam trend.

From now on - given the multitude of game/entertainment threads that have cropped up in a bigger number than necessary - we will reinstate the previous game threads limit to 3 or 4 at a time. Any new game threads will no longer be accepted in the forums without prior permission at least.
