I have the stand alone version of PF - and I'm amazed there is no torpedo runs (so far) - Imagine doing the Midway missions with a TBF and that awesome Jap AA fire - and not to mention all those zero's snapping away on your six!!

Probably not a great set of missions to try - but I remember a classic Pacific rotorhead game called 1942 by Microprose had those missions in the campaign function - a great game for it's time!! Anyone remember it?

The USN torpedo bomber in service at Midway was the TBD Devastator (don't have AI yet, may never get a flyable one http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif).

However there are two torpedo capable planes in PF stand alone - Beaufighter Mk21 and A-20 Havoc.
The first patch will add the G4M Betty - which will also haul torps.

I made a couple of quick and dirty missions in the FMB with Beaufighters making a torp run on an IJN flotilla (Cap ship with 4 escort destroyers). The flak was incredible - quite a rush http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.
The FMB (Full Mission Builder) is absolutely worth the few minutes effort to pick up the basics (see the manual.pdf in your game directory - around P55).

I take it you are refering to Microprose's "1942: Pacific Air War" - yes I'd say a few folks around here remember it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yeah, thats the one. The graphics were awesome at the time I think I played it on my 486DX2 - now that was a long time ago!!!

Thanks for the comments with the mission builder - I must say it looks very daunting - I tried doing a mission but had problems with waypoints - gave up in the end - I will try again soon.
