The incoming patch 1.2 is here... but where is the Bf-110 or me-262 with RADARS.....

The radar was extremaly important in the ww2 beside fundamental.

RADARS MUST BE ON IL2 FB.

As far as I know Germany's nightfighters were deployed against the British night raids - not on the Eastern Front.

i made a post about Night fighters and radars not so long ago.

whilst i think it should be relatively easy to implement and could make for a nice new sphere to the game - it seems like the majority of people were more bothered about achieving kill after kill than hunting down an enemy a/c for any length of time.

while i wouldn't want to solely fly nightfighters for the rest of my FB life - i think it would make for a nice holiday every once in a while, and would love to see it implemented /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Well as far as I know Zeros, KI-84s, B 17Gs, and Mustangs were not used on the eastern front. (I know someone will provide a historical case where these planes flew over mother Russia for 3 minute and won the war)

But I know that Normandy and the Ardennes is not in the eastern front and I have never seen a palm tree near Moscow

I think we all have to take a deep breath and accept that this is not an eastern front sim anymore and stop using that as a criterion for inclusion of new objects into IL2FB. I say the more features the better and as for radar I would love it.

I played the Wilde Sau night fighter campaign, great fun. I just wish the ground control could guide me in or that I had a more primitive form of radar then the mini map

This came up earlier in the year. Apparently radar was not common the eastern Front and the 'patrol' system was more common.

Certainly from the descriptions given in 'Night Witches' (about Russian female pilots) they seemed to do patrols and sweeps and the Germans seemed to do the same. I guess this because with radar the Luftwaffe could give warning of inbound VVS and this is not mentioned in Night Witches, nor I recall the biography of Eric Hartman, the Blonde Knight of Germany - I think.

You can still stalk....postioning wise

My passion is to fly, nothing beats it, nothing can compare to it, free as a bird. Bird of prey.

I think "we" all have to accept that this is Ubi Soft's and Maddox's game. They can do whatever they want with it.

Of course I would love to have radar. I would love World War One planes. Or all those Allied and Axis planes that were planned, but never build. I would also like Ubi Soft to give a brand new Ferrari and a million bucks. So I agree - the more features, the better ...

But I guess Ubi Soft sees this as an Eastern Front game since it is sold and advertised as such. Everything else is just an added bonus, we should be glad of. So the argument still applies.

The problem is it will never be supported when oleg says muzzleflashs, sound cant be changed is because they are in a very large sfs file and a 500m patch isnt reasonable. I do want it also in fb but its not going to happen but most likely will in his future game engine.

Im hoping after bob med and other theaters with the new engine they will update the russian theater as well and add in many planes missing and have them flyable, I dunno but the reason I wont buy lomac is becuase there will be only 8 flyable planes Ive read then BOB will have not many planes as well under 10 flyables which makes me think about buying it in 2005, hopefully they will increase the number, look how many planes we have in fb and you get bored after flying them for months and months

I guess the point that I a trying to make and was missed is that this is, Ubi Soft's and Maddox's game and they are increasing its scope. But what I see happening in these forums is that various individual discount new features for the simplistic for the reason "not on the Eastern Front".

This game is transcending the eastern front; as such new features should be added regardless their accuracy to a single theater in WW2. I think on some levels the community needs to mature as the Maddox's vision of the game grows.

There are some things that Maddox's game does that just make me shake my head. They include Italians and Rumanian planes spend time and energy on flight models, 3d objects etc and incorporating them into the game. Now these planes have been there forever and they are AI only, which is fine. However in the all the offline campaigns I have played I think I have seen them once, and they did not participate in any of the action, just flew along on a sight seeing tour really adding nothing to my enjoyment. Sure they were on the eastern front, but if these features are gong to be added make sure they add to the game.

Why are these here, it seems like a waste of money and does not add to the game play? I am all for feature as long as they add something. Radar for me who plays in a dark basement adds something.

I thought so too first, but then someone told me it is somekind of ILS thingy. When you are aligned with runway, the two dots are blinkin above each other. It's helpful with He-111 landing visibility.
