Looking at the Sim HQ preview, there's little to no muzzle flash in this pic. Not sure if it just happened to capture the moment when the pilot stopped firing, but with the trail of empty casings it doesn't seem to be the case. Do I dare wish it's made an option? It would take away a lot of whining. And of course spawn a new horde of whines http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I can't see how muzzle flash would be made an option. It's either there or it isn't. I don't think anyone would toggle "muzzle-flash ON" in the difficulty menu because it wasn't like that. That would make the game unnecessarily, and unrealistically, hard for no reason.

If the only options for the dev team were to a)leave it in as is or b)eliminate it altogether and they chose b), they made the right choice.

As it is now in FB, muzzle flash is an arcade, silly and poorly done simulation AND graphic treatment.

Muzzle flash as it currently is wastes my CPU and video card cycles.....http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

I honestly hope they toned it down considerably since it was truly over the top in a game that didn't need it to be that way. It just helped the dweebs who couldn't find their targets or their butts with their own hands.

The Admiral Hunt video showed clearly smaller flashes coming from the Zero. In-game as it is now the muzzle flash is relatively large...probably tripple in size to the wing looking from the back (a full thickness above and below the wing from the back).

Now its a nice little glare that comes from the muzzle. I think the new flashes will be very effective. They are still there...there should be some glare or some sort of indication that bullets are emerging from the barrels but it was big before.

Hopefully the changes are retroactive to the other aircraft too.

Oh noes the flashes are too small at night. I DEMAND SATISFACTION! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well done, Oleg. Now if only we could get hella smoke puffs coming out. CFS2 had that effect down pat, and it looked awesome and realistic at the same time.

I wouldnt mind if they went together. The human eye wouldnt see a muzzle flash anyway while traveling at 300 plus mph, simply because there wouldnt be one due to the wind snuffing it straight out
