i don't think anyone deserves to die.

p.s - i hope this gets sorted out- at the minute some planes dont have any pilot death animation. some have the pilot slumped forward - and some have the "two
head" thing like above. i know it's a trivial point but it can't be that hard to implement it properly on all planes - so we can tell when the pilots a gonna so we don't keep shooting the plane /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

So virtual people? It's ok for VP to die? Isn't that a double standard? If we continue to kill virtual people, soon there won't be any more, and that will be a great loss. I represent the SPCVP, The Society For Prevention Of Cruelty To Virtual People, and so far, our sister group, The SPCVA, (Society For Prevention Of Cruelty To Virtual Animals) has made great strides by banning the killing of virtual animals in flight sims. We will be successful! We shall overcome the opressors! And now, Mr. Fluke, we have our eye on you.

- True!

That is probably the single most appallingly disgusting statement I've had the misfortune to read in a long, long time.

I didn't think bigoted a$$holes of this caliber still existed in 2003.

For the record: No, nobody deserves to die. Some people definitely deserve some creative suffering, but not death. And, . . . I don't think that a person's "orientation" is a reason to judge them. Give people a chance, and you will find that where it matters we are all the same.

Sorry to hurt your sensibilities. I really couldn't care less what happens to pixel people, but a statement that someone deserves to die just because they're not straight, sets me off, big-time.

I used to work in a very macho workplace, I was an off-shore diver in the Gulf of Mexico. Bad gay-jokes and even bragging about beating up gays were the order of the day. Not being gay myself, but certainly not having anything against gays, I found myself in a situation where I had to play along with everybody's attitude, simply in order to not be seen by everybody as "that kooky gay-lover".

I'm sure you can imagine the kind of frustration that has engendered in me.

Can you not see that all thats happening is that the pilot ate his lunch too quickly and is choking on a piece of broccoli. The copilot is performing the Heimlich maneuver in an attempt to save the pilot. Its quite simple really.

To avoid the frustration of misfortune,
That, in this world, is happiness.

amazing how when someone (ahem) who doesn't mean to cause offence can be jumped on by mods without an ounce of remorse - yet when a statement is made which is quite obviously anti-homosexual and which could also clearly cause deep offence to some people ( be it a joke or not) there isn't a mod in sight

i tried really hard not to write something like this but couldn't help myself.

to make up for it this will be my last post in this thread

I know, and it wasn't even you who made the crack. And I know it's not perceived as a big deal.

But imagine for a moment that somebody made a crack about how somebody'd deserve to die because they were black. You see how utterly unacceptable that would be?

Now you see why violent, aggressive, homophobic cracks like this one p!ss me off?
