Those SoW WIP shots reminded me a lot of the nice'n'smoggy summer sunsets I've seen over the Los Angeles, CA USA, basin. Nice sim effect, though miserable to live in. Oleg did pitch 'others may want to use this'...FS11 anyone...

I see no aeroplane in that image. I hope this is not a farming simulation.

Check out the update here (http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=15485), it's a demo of the atmospherics etc. The shots range from 200m to 40km.

Looks like they have the stratosphere modeled, this means great potential for the future, well done to Olegs' team!

Brief:

The sping has come early this year, you need to plough your field right away. Make sure you keep your share clean of the rocks. Make the furrows even, or the sower will have problems.

Weather nice, take off at 04.30

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif Ive just logged in on the other forum http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=15485 to see the WIP shots, why is it listed as il2 and not SOW? I am confused. Is it an il2 update or SOW.
Is there a SOW dedicated forum on there? the game isn't even listed on the main page.
Sorry for the daft questions but doesn't look good if the information is being hidden that well, they should be pushing it out to the front surely.

As SoW:BoB wont be a ubi release (phew!) there is no reason for it to be listed here.
The producers are so busy to finish the game , they haven't even the time to make a homepage for it.
Marketing for it is not a big thing either, me thinks, all hard-core simulation fans are already following the developement on the 1c site and the main stream customer wont be interested in any game that a) he can't learn to play in 5 min. and b) he hasn't to pay for it monthly.

OK,Now i AM confused. This is a SOW update [isn't it] and it won't be labelled on a SOW forum, not very professional i think.
Regarding all hard core sim fans that will buy it,well that's a few thousand people [out of millions playing sims on various devices].I wonder how R O F is doing,i don't know that many who have it and those that do have shelved it already.

@Trumper. I think ROF is doing pretty good. Got it this week, the Iron Cross edition. Very enjoyable. Loading takes a while on my 4 year old computer but that's the only negative I can come up with. Looks great, feels like real flying. They listened to their customers and potential customers.

I don't know precisely how many people bought Il2 over the last 10 years but I read somewhere it was around 650K in Russia alone and another 600k in the rest of the world. Pretty good base to start SoW with.

Pretty good base to start SoW with. Do those IL2 figures include boxed add-ons like Ace Expansion Pack? Or download only ones like the PE-2? I'm sure it includes base versions that can be played out of the box like the original title, Forgotten Battles and Pacific Fighters.
