just got off warclouds....Never once pulled my triggar(LOL)

this was my first time against real live pilots. What a Blast! I was shot down 3 times. I actually successfully evaded one attack by employing the descending spiral. The Biffer couldn't handle it. After that i used the spits superior climbing to try to get above him...Lost Tally...Wait...OH *&%$!!!!

Zapped by said Biffer

successfully bailed out and was promptly captured by Blue ground forces. Bummer. Let the Red Cross know i'm still alive please (LOL)

This week has been a blast for me...I've joined RCAF 403 sqd. Gotten on TS, flew a few nights in training/co-op, laughed my @$$ off and met some great fellas.

Full Real is no joke. If i'm going to die repeatedly, i want it "Full Switch" http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif (LOL)

See you all in the Not-So-Friendly Skies

I think we missed each other by a matter of days. That would be a blast if you re-joined.

WC is fun for sure...i even got to experience "Lag" for the first time http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

BTW: I had never actually had to taxi before...finding the runway in Russia is no fun...took me 5 tries to get off the ground until i figured out how to make sure that you are on runway, not grass...the horror...the horror http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Look for the light green stuff!

If you reall really really cant find it, and u dont care about stats, bail out of ur plane on the ground and zoom out, then plane a route to the takeoff area http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

but eventually u will work out how to find the strips!

You can see which way you need to turn to point towards the center of the airport, not away.

Also, you can do the "look for the control tower" thing, which is usually (but not always) near the middle of the field.

Lastly, look to see which way your teammates land and take-off.

Welcome to online play! I've been doing this for years now and still haven't mastered it.

Hope that helps.

Welcome to our community. I still get shot down regularly. Look for me in a 110 or Ju87 trying to escape low.

yeah if you look left and right from your cockpit, there are usually landmarks on the airfield to tell u which way to go. e.g. look left, if you see a control tower on ur left and it is quite far away, then youll be good to take off left and vice versa. Other landmarks could be nets, hangers (rare on WC) or as the other fella says, planes landing/taking off!

Just don't do what some do and take of 90 degress to the run way. 99% of the time it ends in something funny happening.

Corvette93: Thanks! As i type this your post count is 93....Synchronicity?

Danjama: I knew there had to be some sort of system for this...thank you for the tips and help

Oooh, another hot topic/button. When spawning in and after starting your engine, don't go charging foward. More often than not, the spawn pads are set up as a grid. So if you are in single engine plane, you can't see the fellow who is spawning (or about to spawn) 20 yards in front of you.

So, power up, change your heading by 45 degrees until you've rolled a good plane and a half wingspan to the side, then you can change your heading back to the original (spawn in) heading. This _should_ keep you from ramming anyone else (it also helps to waggle your nose while taxiing).

Otherwise, you get negative points, teammates who hate you, etc.

I wish Oleg would improve this aspect of the sim by allowing for each to spawn in at the best spawn point available for the runway.
