Check out the reflection of the canopy in the compass glass dome!!! I wonder if this is a dynamic reflection that will change when we move our heads around with 6DOF? ( I know, that may be a bit much to ask...but who knows how much Oleg is putting into this.)

I thuink maybe that reflection image is fixed. Theshot was taken in render mode, yet there are clouds and sky in the reflection image....doesnt add up.

Other than upgrading the graphic engine I don`t think the cockpit is everything.I`m counting for BoB to get rid of most of the big problems IL2 suffers plus some realistic CEM.

BTW the cockpit doesn`t seem to be so hot although I`m sure that moving parts are what we look for too.

I noticed the clouds also but forgot to mention them. Thank you for reminding me... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Interesting. MAYBE, it's an ingame shot DESIGNED to look like render mode as not to give away too much. Oleg seems to play his cards very close to his chest. Or maybe I'm hoping for too much.

Love to see moving shadows and reflections, but it's gonna need a server full of graphics cards?

Is that a face with an oxygen mask in the dial to the left? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

No, I think it's the face of Jesus, like I saw in the clouds one day...

cheers,

Probably just environment mapping. Its a "good enough" solution to many reflection style graphics. True reflections take quite a bit of power...

It looks like the conspiracy theorist's "sphinx face on Mars",to me;or maybe a rhesus monkey wearing a surgical mask. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Such a big fuss over a reflection...be happy we have one! I hardly think that in the middle of a dogfight you will be worrying about instrument reflections. Hell I never really thought to look for them when i'm flying my Cardinal in real life! Like I said, be happy it's there, stop finding flaws!
