i guess rainbow still hasn't gotten this right. this has been this way since the first. in the picture at the top, there is a hostage being brought onto a helo, it looks like. you always restrain hostages. this feature is in SOCOM. Restraining a hostage is a precaution, what if the hostage was really a terrorist in disguise? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif just think if they did that in the game. lets say you tell the hostage to follow you with out restraining them, then they whip out a gun and take a few of oyur teammates out! that would add something to hostage rescues. now, of course that wouldn't happen in every situation, but i should add some depth and challenge to the gameplay. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yeah, that would suck big time. But in the PC Raven Shield didn't they implement the flex cuffs? Anyway, this is console, and like I've been posting all around the power of the 360 will enable this to be a future, most likely. That is of course if ubi wants to keep this series alive. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Maybe it's not a hostage. Maybe it's a random girl standing outside a casino, and they're pushing her out of the way 'cause the darn girl's in their line of sight! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Maybe she's neither hostage nor bystander, but a tango, and she's single handedly kicking all three of their #sses. Looks like a kung fu move to me. That's praying mantis style if I've ever seen it!

In Rainbow Six 3 and BArrow I had to hand cuff the hostage to secure them.

Maybe the girl was drunk in started to run after the heli thinking it was an Alien ship lol

If you'll look closely, you'll notice the operatives are guiding her hand towards the 'cargo'.

"Precious cargo secured."

In response to the Ding's wife being kidnapped in the novel she was taken hostage.

Yep, by Irish militants no less. The resulting 'interrogation' of the survivor is one of Ding's more 'infamous' moments.

Anyway, remember this is the console R6. They must be operating under the assumption that the console player does not want to encumbered with proceedure and safety with the cuffing of hostages - it would probably break the flow of play too much. That said, there was never any facility for it in previous Rainbows, but the securing of ANY unarmed person during a raid is of absolutely paramount importance. In this day and age of tactical shooters, I hope they put this in if they're aiming for realism (they should, as far as I concerned). Nevertheless, I'm not holding out much hope.

R63 and Black Arrow had you restain the hostages. "Aplines" and "Mountain Highway" are prime examples of this when you rescue the hostages in the church and the underground parking structure. You cuff them and Loiselle even says, "Wait here. You're safe" and the hostage replies, "Don't leave me here!" - LOL.

However, when you rescue the wife in "Island", you have to lead her to her husband, unrestrained. Hmm... Inconsistency, there? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

But seriously, replaying the "old" games... The ones pre-Lockdown... UBI had a good thing going for the consoles as well as the PC.

Some people comment on R63 and BA being rough around the edges and not as refined as LD and Critical Hour. That may be so, but they were so much more realistic and immersive than Lockdown ever was -- And I will give credit where credit is due. This may be in large part due to R63/BA being built from the PC codebase of Raven Shield and not the other way around with Lockdown (actually, part of it is the engines used; even the aging Unreal Engine 2.0 is far superior to RSE's Ghost Recon engine which is from 2001, and is also why R63 and BA feel more like a CQB game than a long range Ghost Recon-type game like Lockdown and Critical Hour play).

Well the wife may have been a hostage but that still doesn't answer the Vegas pic Hostage for Vegas game.

Maybe they will have a referance to it... Will have to wait till then.
