Man, that's terrible. He'd posted here just the other day, a Lt. Col., an F-16 pilot, who had served in the Balkans. I'm really quite shocked.

This is a thank you post his brother made to thank all the messages on the SH4/SH3 forum.

"In the Name of my family,

I Orlando, Greg or DEEPBLUE brother would like to thank you all for the kind words you leave here for my brother.

They mean a lot to us.

I am not surprised by your reaction to my brother, he descends from a line of warriors and captains, he was a born leader of men, having been born with that most elusive quality that allows for greatness in man.

He always had time for anyone that might need him, how he achieved that i do not know.

The weack and the sick, were always his passions, he was a filantropist as well as a very sucesseful business man, owning or co- owning a total of 8 different companies ranging from high tech, to agriculture.
He was an avid flyer, having started by stealing my fathers crop duster at the age of 14 and earning himself a good whooping in return.

At 15 while studying in Switzerland, he built a home made Delta Wing, and flew of a mountain, crashing from a height of around 90 feet, and spending 17 days in a coma.
As soon as he made 16, my father started him on his Brevet, before he killed himself, he crashed my father's Crop duster, a Dromadair, 3 times, and walked way everytime...he got the nick KAMIKAZE because of that. He loved "immelmans" at the edge of the fields, and would pull up "verticals" in front of the power lines.
My father paid for a lot of repairs to the power grid, as the Dromadair is equiped with cable slicing blades.

In the Airforce i don't know if they loved him or wanted to strangle him.

He would raise hell, and everywere he went people just seem to follow him no matter into what they were getting themselves into.
He was the first Airforce student Pilot to fly solo at the 4th hour, after a major discussion with his flight instructor.

In the Balkans he got into trouble many times, because he would disrespect direct orders, the primary mission was to patrol the coast of Italy, by DEEPBLUE, somehow "lost" his coordinates many a times and was in the thick of action, having even once "allowed" himself to be locked on by ground to air missiles in order to protect a defective US F-15, he got a US "unofficial" medal for that, and almost military jail too.

As a father, my brother seems to have been the father from all the children in sight. My own children had more respect to him then to me.
he leaves 4 children, one adopted, Miky, who he has found at the age of 3 and a half naked dirty and crying in an abandoned car, by the father and mother who were drug adicts. He broke the jaw of the father and as i understand he actualy chased around 15 or 20 junkies from the place with his bare hands and the kid on his arm. Not even the Police was able to take the kid from him, and when a judge said the kid had to be in an institution, my brother threatned to buy the building were the intitution was, which was a rented building, and throw them out on the street. He was never again separated from Miky. And has even thrown an Aunt out of his house for commenting that the "brat" should not call him dady.

I could go on for hours.

I will not, for you have seen a bit of him.

He was a great MAN,

He was my brother.

Transfixus sed non mortuus

Orlando

Thank you all."

R.I.P

Death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas; they live in one another still. For they must needs be present, that love and live which is omnipresent. In this divine glass they see face to face; and there converse is free, as well as pure. This is the comfort of friends, that though they may be said to die, yet their friendship and society are, in the best sense, ever present, because immortal.

The free world needs guys like that. A real loss. Many great aviators seem to die or be injured in car wrecks. Korea ace JAmes Jabarra was killed by a drunk as he was going home in his VW shortly after he came home from the war.

My late dad was crippled by a racing moron on his way to Ft. Rucker to his flying job, after 13000 hrs of flight time without a scratch.

Flying combat is far safer than driving I sometimes think. Salute to the Col.

Dear Sirs,

My name is Miky, and I am the oldest son of DEEPBLUEWOLF, due to the volume of mail, in all forms, it is difficult to answer everyone in person.

I would like, in the name of the Family, to thank you for your kind words.

They mean a lot to us.

My Father was a very Special MAN, we are happy he is and will be remembered.

Thank you.

Miky.
