Check this thread over at guru3d where they are discussing a latency tool. I think many will find it useful.

After reading all the positive comments I had to give it a go.

I have a 6800GT set at 248 and an Audigy 2 set at 32. As 64 was a much mentioned figure I tried this first for the gfx card and my fps dropped very slightly with no other noticeable effect. (The drop in fps was within the margin of error though so not significant.)

I then tried 32 so that the sound card and gfx card were on the same setting. This time I got a consistent increase of 1.5%on my previous fps. Not great but an increase nonetheless. More significantly there was a noticeable increase in smoothness. A subjective observation as I have no way of benchmarking this but noticeable. I'm curious if some of the occasional annoying crackling/scratching noises will now also disappear but that is for the long term.

All in all worth doing and thanks for the link! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Holy "No More Stutters"......This did the trick for me. Thanks Havoc, I owe you one. And I got an extra 5 fps to boot. Man, those stutters from speech loading and graphics loading were driving me nuts. I set the Audigy from 64 to 00, the VGA Compatible Controller from 255 to 32 and the Display Controller from 64 to 32. Stutters are gone!!!!!!! Btw, using an x800xt.

Thank you again

Using Fraps and the black death track, I tried various settings (exiting the game and restarting for any changes). No difference whatsoever for me...

9800 pro, p4 2.8, 1 gig dual channel ram, video and computer (3.0) overclocked

Keep in mind that if you use Omega's drivers, he automatically sets your video card latency to the MB latency (64 for me on the AV8 Deluxe).

Guru3d is a excellent source of info. I check the forums and new downloads on a regular basis. I think many would benefit from doing the same. The people that visit and post in the forums are hardcore gamers and tweakers and usually have a wealth of knowledge.
